This is not a healthy way to tackle an issue in any game, letting a part rot or decay because it doesn't affect you. A community is supposed to work together to improve every aspect of a game, since this is a ToS breach there shouldn't even be a debate to begin with, this is a thorough violation of written terms and it should be rectified. If you do no PvP, that's fine, good on you, but do not work against the efforts of people trying to fix a thing that, after all, doesn't affect you, this is a simple matter of respect.
I am very curious to see how FD's PR person spins this.
Maybe they knew you all were manufacturing "evidence"? Maybe combat logging isn't nearly as prevalent as gankers think it is? Maybe, like a lot of us, they rarely if ever see a legit CL and could care less?
I do have sympathy for those robbed of the joy of killing another player though and to that end I'll gladly donate a magnifying glass so they can go outside and kill ants. In the meantime, I hope FD stops the game to investigate this monumental travesty, then we can all sleep at night again.

Asking a fellow CMDR who feels passionate about a game to quit instead of voicing their constructive criticism of gameplay issues, with proof of occurring-faults thereby allowing the devs to define and resolve those issues, is a poor stance for anyone to take. "Mod hat off" may have been preferable in hindsight considering your position, yet still wrong.
"Not playing" doesn't affect the bottom-line as this isn't a monthly-subscription MMO. "Waiting until Season 3 is announced and not buying" is only an option for the naive, as game development takes time.
Push the issue to the front, and get the devs' attention for a fix; this forum does enough of that already. The OP did well on this, and credit to them.

I would very much like to respond to this comment with a usual sarcastic remark or comment. But it is difficult when it is just so factual.
Respect for the effort and work that's being put into this little "experiment".
A few people would probably be surprised about how many people aren't surprised by the outcome at all.
Another thing that wouldn't surprise me is if we learned one day, no shadow ban has ever been issued to anyone for whatever offense.

OP (SDC?) wants Frontier to come out and say there is no fix, this way everyone can combat log!

We have read a story, without any supporting "evidence" at all. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist, but until I see the "evidence" it's just a story to me.
Show us the closed tickets, the video, the conversation with FD, the smoking gun so to speak. Then we'll see what FD has to say.

I've seen a few "great journalism" posts. Really? All it is is a story without hard evidence and facts. Even with the "evidence" until FD has there day in the kangaroo court no judgement should be passed.
Witch hunts are a nasty business and sometimes results in a shortage of brooms. If all this is indeed real and turns out to be true then someone needs to get fired. If not, then someone needs to get banned.

You know Frontier has a history of not delivering upon promises even when it involves money. It may not affect you now but it may well do in the future. White knighting for poor behaviour is something you should ask yourself about.
I find it impossible to take any of the volunteer moderators comments or opinions seriously.

Of course there is a fix, but it will take the will and some time and effort to create a technical soluation. Perhaps Braben is too busy eyeing his bank balance or marvelling and posing in front of his new eco home to care.
Its not just the crap attitude towards cheating and exploiting over the years, its the duplicitous nature of how they wish to mislead us. They show a contempt towards us all, as if they are somehow smarter than us and we will not see whats going on..
Its poor behaviour and I'm rather tired of their excuses and lack of action on the matter.

I've seen a lot of championing and debate over whether combat logging is moral or not.... It's irrelevant to the OP. This is a study based in fact. Fact Fdev has said time and again as illustrated in the links that they investigate each claim of combat logging and take appropriate action. The OP demonstrates that neither of those statements is true. Stay on topic.
Any "technical solution" they implement to prevent combat logging will A: not work, and B: not work - but it's such an important point it needed mentioning twice.
I read your investigation and the conclusion I came to is that you put a lot of effort into wasting FD supports time.
Maybe it's not so much that they don't look into these things ordinarily but that they've flagged you as a time-waster and ignore your tickets after sending you the standard polite non-committal one size fits all reply. They may have automated this process if you've done this sort of thing before.
I don't think were going to get some player replacement server to take over on exit if that's what you are thinking.
