HA! Awesome, and have some rep. "But Supercruise is boring!" Never mind that Frontier has kindly provided us with ships--from the tiny Sidewinder on up-- with FTL drives (thanks to Handwavium SCIENCE!) to make it possible to traverse those distances in a reasonable amount of time (well, except for Hutton Orbital, hehe--what does that actually require, I keep hearing different figures).

Like 40 minutes. I didn't time myself though. I only made the trip once just to say I did. I think it's actually too easy to get to to be worth a sense of accomplishment. But hey, that's just me.

Along with my Alioth pic above where I supercruised to it, this is more my style...

Did you use the wing-beacon exploit?
Without that the trip takes between 80 & 90 minutes, depending on your supercruising skill.

Exploit? Pfft... Why would anyone bother with that? ;) (Must not know me very well. :))

But no. Like I said (after edit), I didn't time it. In retrospect, maybe I should have.

There are people who would. AFAIK it doesn't work anymore (actually, I think I heard of it only after it was closed down).
The part about not knowing you well is certainly true, I know no one in the game or forums very well. Uh, maybe myself, dunno... :p

40 minutes for Hutton run is so ridiculously low claim that I had to ask the question, in the vein of "how'd you figure". :)

Thanks for the correction, then. Might have to test it out for myself again now when I get back to the bubble.

Cheers.

Edit: To avoid confusion or accidentally misleading anyone, I struck the text out in that post.

Regarding this discussion--has it ever been determined whether the FSD on every ship is supposed to be just as fast as on every other one in supercruise? Or maybe lighter ships accelerate faster and slow down less quickly when approaching stellar/planetary bodies?

As far as I know they're the same with 2001c being the top speed, etc. Maneuverability can be different of course, which can have some impact, but that isn't directly FSD related.

Thanks for the info on top speed. I had no idea BTW that maneuverability was different for different ships outside of "normal" (non-FSD) space.
