Sidewinder Sequals: Adventures in or near the bubble.

After my little "mishap" last night I rushed back to SOL to get another SRV and then headed back to SYNUEFE XR-H D11-102 1 to search for clues on 1D...because of the new newly decoded message with very strange letters...that match almost perfectly some aspects of the ruins.

See thread:

Of course I found nothing so I headed back to moon 1Ba where I stopped on the top of a crater centre peak a couple of km above the crater floor:

Tonight I did some searching for geological activity (geysers/fumeroles) on moon 1D of SYNUEFE XR-H D11-102:

The map of this side of the planet with search area 1 marked:

A close up of the two canyons searched in area 1:

However, I didn't really know what I was looking for so I went for a practice run on Actaea in SOL which has water geysers (apparently). I found them quite easily (without using the tourist beacon) but I'm not sure all of these things will be so easy to find:

Doesn't look like water to me:

Tomorrow night I head back to 1D and look in a different area...and then head to my meeting with Jermus (scheduled for Sunday night).

OFF:

Sorry Frawd to hijack your thread, but every time I think of you and Australia, I go crazy about these ancient OZ machines that burned mineral oil. [wacky]

What a sad story, that these went out of production!

I had a break from trying to solve the ruins riddle...(what ever that might be).

I was one of many Cmdrs escorting the esteemed sidey pilot Cmdr Jermus back to civilisation.

Cmdrs Jermus, Disorganise, Brother Sabathius, Twofingers and I met up at Fine Ring Sector JH-V C2-4 A 1

Disorganise and myself were the first to arrive and much shenanigans were had in the SRVs...playing leapfrog, high speed chicken (well that was me running into disorganise at high speed anyways).

Then we all met at the top of the crater centre peak (and much shenanigans were had again):

It was a blast! Glad to see Jermus made it back in one piece, to claim his fame and fortune :)

I was pretty poor with the old camera last night - I blame my keyboard going non-interactive all the time (even though the binding is on my mouse...shhh)

Seems we both had issues Cmdr. I should have been videotaping our initial meet-up where it was just the two of us, and our silliness! :)

However, my video only starts from where we had to log to get into the same instance with Jermus and Brother S. Not sure why...kinda bummed that my multi-barrel roll leap, and sticking the landing did not make it on to video :(

The past three nights I have been hanging out 500km above the surface of SYNUEFE XR-H D11-102 1 B (the ruins) making observations of orbital motions of sun/Planet 1/Moon 1 B/Moon 1 B A.

Here is a pic of the light/dark terminator arriving at the ruins (red circle):

I do hope you find something meaningful one day ... although I can imagine that the search itself is also rather intriguing (and resulting in very nice pictures!).

As a break from the observations of the SYNUEFE system I decided to visit a capital ship dry-dock. Specifically the one in the BAAL system, Oterma Station. Here are a few pics of the sidey wondering around these giant ships. They have obviously been in battle as there are some significant battle scars/burns on their hulls, as seen in the pics below.

I was only once accosted by a vessel demanding to know why I was scanning the ships (except that I wasn't) but that was it...never got in trouble for wondering around these giants.

That'll buff out, some nice pics Frawd, good luck with the gelogical feature search.

I am heading back along the Colonia Connection now in my exploracobra and intend to check out the new bases and things before I head back to jaques with my new purchases. There's a lot equipment wise we still can't get out there, but knowing my luck by the time I get back the expansion will have completed and all the better gear will be available there anyway. Still annoyed that they only had D grade fuel scoops for the Cobra!

That's pretty much why I came back to the bubble...couldn't buy anything out at Colonia. I came back to get passenger cabins for my Orca except I never got around to it. Got hooked into the alien ruins mystery and haven't had much time for anything else (despite making zero headway in that puzzle) ;)

I'm trying to remember to bung stuff in storage. Have a buggy unit and a dss. Working on different sized pp's and stuff now.
Figure I can then transfer them to colonia1 if I need them......although I guess i could leave them in a ship and transfer the whole lot....

So as not to appear like I am siding with one faction over another ('cos really I don't give a damn)...I visited the Federal Capital Ship docs at Parutis, Evans Port:

Really gotta wonder about the security around these places:

SVGn8ij.jpg

I "landed" all over the capital ship causing myself about 25% hull damage...not a peep from the Feds. I guess they figure a shieldless sidey can't do much harm.

(I was really impressed by the flashing "welding" lights coming from various parts of the ships, but would loved to have seen the machines/humans doing the actual welding...maybe in the future)

They should know better... On the other hand, maybe they did scan your Sidey, traced the identity tag back to your pilot ID and thought: "Ow, Frawd ..." ;)

LOL, yes...it was probably more like <scan> "Ah, it's just that nutter in a sidey...he can't do any harm"

Tonight I finally got back into the sidey after much time spent wrapped up in the ruins "mystery" and the new ruins recently found.

I decided to head out to HR 8799 to see this:

And here I am at Pailes Vision which is orbiting the closest planet visible in the RL system:

FD were obviously aware of the research on this system when they created the galaxy...very cool!

Finally got back in the Grass Hopper II (and 2.3).

Went on a quick trip out to Trappist-1 for a look around: (forgot to turn the camera gizmos off)

In what surely must be a glitch, I got first finders bonuses for the Trappist-1 system when I sold the data back at Sol.

Tomorrow I'm heading out to see some colony ships (or whatever they're called).
