Today I finally encountered one of these supposedly 'bored' players....err, testers....I guess.
I headed out to a nearby unidentified signal, just to take a look you know. Anyhow, I just arrive and in less than 30 secs another player arrives on the scene. Interestingly, the moment he appeared on my scanner he had hardpoints deployed (almost as though he'd been in SC with em deployed, which I know doesn't work). I was clean status, had no cargo onboard whatsoever, and hardpoints were retracted - so what does this cowardly so-and-so do? Proceeds to attack me unprovoked, and moreover took my shields down in one salvo (or felt like it) and made short work of my hull after that. Sadly it made a complete mockery of FD's stated intent that running should be a plausible tactic - because I had no time to run once the attack commenced. Came across the same guy later and discovered he was in a Cobra Mk III so no wonder he took me down so quickly.
Sure hope he felt tough taking out a measly basic sidewinder, considering he would have gotten absolutely nothing out of it other than an additional amount of bounty on his head. Gutless and cowardly from my perspective but whatever floats his boat I guess.
On a positive note I've started constructing my ignore list (for when we can ignore)......
