Isn't neg-rep spam actually a more pernicious form of griefing?

Semi-seriously, getting killed just costs time and insurance excess money, whereas a neg-rep is a way for people to record indelibly that they thought you're an idiot. Down with neg-rep sniping! Criticise the idea (in the thread), not the poster. Only if the poster is being a fool all over the forums, consider using neg-rep to remind them to gently correct their ways.
JugHed, want to start a neg-rep abuse sufferers self-help with me on a Tuesday night?
I'm with you, man!
Thanks for the support!
It's a technical point, but you don't like playing with people, you like playing against people.
That is not true. At all.
I would rather the rules be made that Co-op is the preferred gameplay.
If your trying to play the game the traditional way at the start it takes a long time to be able to afford insurance. 1700 for the ship that you get replaced for free. You need a good 5000cr before you can buy a pulse laser and then afford insurance to replace it.
It took me almost a week an hour here and there before I simply gave up. Too many crashes to desktop. Too many people shooting me down who were supposed to be on my side in conflict.
I actually lost money and restarted several times.
Then I gave up trying to play how it was meant to be played. Instead I just go to a conflict zone, collect credits for a couple of ships, then save and exit. rinse and repeat till I got about 7000cr.
If any players start shooting at me I quit the game and come back later. I don't want to PvP till I can comfortably pay insurance multiple times. That isn't now.
I don't want to play PvP at all. And do not appreciate my own side trying to kill me either.
This game is hard, and not helped by crash bugs and malicious players that don't respect unspoken rules. Perhaps with comms it will get better.
But for newbies to the game like I was, PvP is typically not welcome when to die is to start over. For PvP I'd rather play war thunder where I can repair my plane cheaply or wait 15 mins to a few hours to repair for free depending on what tier plane it is.
ED for beginners just means starting over, and over and over. That is the biggest problem for people that wanted a coop game as sold by David in all his interviews. He always states that PvP will be limited in the game, so many of us are disappointed when it seems to be the direction many are trying to force the game in.
The original elite never had you die and start over. There was always a save from the last launch from a spaceport so all you lost was what you accumulated during your last excursion from safety. That is what many of us who played 30 years ago remember. Losing everything so easily was an unwelcome surprise that probably becomes less of a problem once you have accumulated some wealth.
It took me exactly 1 hour to earn enough for two pulse lasers.
Once I got those, (because I read the forums) it took me exactly 1 more hour to replace one of those with a gimbaled laser. Once I had that, it took me about a half-hour to get another.
After that, it took me about 3 hours of gameplay, (with goofy exploration/testing fun) to get an Eagle.
I won't tell you how long after that it took me to get a Cobra, because it will make people mad. It wasn't very long.
The Point: It should be harder, not easier. Just because people shoot you sometimes, it doesn't make them 'griefers' or bad people. You're just there. We will get spread out and have bounties/penalties put on us soon enough.
I'm just tired of hearing the whining.
Make sure you have enough to cover insurance. Stay to the places you should. Keep an eye on your scanner. Be a good pilot: You win.
It's too easy how it is.
Edit: that was all with a piece of crap stick and an aged computer. watch out now that I have trackir, an X52 pro, and a monster rig!
