[Distant Worlds]Wasp Radio (A distant worlds focused radio)

What will you be doing with Wasp Radio once Distant Worlds ends? Rebranding? ;)

Wasp Radio will continue to run for as long as it's allowed to. ^^

I marketed it as the Station for Explorers and i think that's good niche. :)

Nice guitar melody, Zelryn

Added another week's worth onto the schedule and the latest Galnet report, in which we get a special mention. You should hear it tomorrow :)
Plus, after getting rid of some duplicated tracks and adding a few more, we're still at 973 tracks out of 1000, so keep the requests coming!
(They didn't have Starsoul though :( sorry)

Hey there, The Radio is still around and still awesome! Just wanted to bump and let you guys know we now have a new announcement from SEPP.

Damn~ I forgot how good the music is!!

I really have, it's making my SRV prospecting that much more enjoyable. (oh man... this was why I made this radio station. thank you all keeping this alive for so long!)

Has something happened to change the settings for playing Wasp on the VLC player? For some bizarre reason Wasp Radio, Radio Skvortkov(sp), and Hutton Orbital Radio all now go to the exact same place music wise?

This is utterly bizarre. I even tried all three stations on the websites using the built-in broswer player and they're STILL all playing the same music - and it never matches up with what the stations should be playing. So the VLC link doesn't work, and neither does the browser player... what the hell could be wrong?

Radionomy <the platform all these stations use> is being sued by Sony and Vivendi all over the place and is being geoblocked hard as a result....

Yep! They're still working it out so we'll see how it goes.

I'm sure there are ways to get through geo-locking, but that's outside of the scope on what we're allowed to talk about here.

Unfortunately that's how things are for the moment. :)

I tried to tune into Wasp radio for the first time in a couple of months and it wasn't there, Radionomy sent me to their homepage. Have you stopped broadcasting?

Yes, unfortunately. The service has a set amount of minimum total listening time stations need to meet per day, and if they don't meet the requirements consistently after 6 months they get taken down.
We knew this might happen and hoped to attract new listeners from our cross promotion with the CCN, but I think it might have come too late.

However, I did quite enjoy giving you guys something to listen to (and discovering new tunes from everyone's suggestions :) ) when I took over from Olivia, so I might create a new station in the future if possible.

If I do, I'll make it known ;) Also, get yourself in the fleetcomm and CCN discords if you want to stay updated that way too! I still have channels on them where people can still post songs and suggestions which I will check frequently when I'm back at my computer (I've been away for a few weeks in another country xD)

Thanks for the headsup, I didn't know about that limitation. It's a shame it's gone, it was my favourite of the Elite stations, I guess not favourite enough! I'm not much of a Discorder or Teamspeaker so I'll just keep my eyes out for you starting up again.
Cheers :)

Absolutely love your station! Found it on Inara recently and now it's the only one I listen to when I'm flying around. Great music.

This link from the OP still plays music. I've not listened long enough to find out if this is real Wasp Radio or some weird unknown artefact.

Edit: I don't think it is Wasp Radio, it doesn't sound like the music that used to be played and it has adverts for "ChillHits4U".
