Details to date:

-Alien ship seems to hyperdict (the term we are using for interdiction in hyperspace) your ship if you have a UA on board. Have yet to have proof of anyone doing it without one.

-Alien ship disables your ship completely, scans your ship, then proceeds to jump away.

-Does not jump like we do. Almost appears to open a hole in front of itself before jumping, as per Pat's post above. (I thought we weren't getting wormholes Fdev???) Wake scanning it gives you data. As well as scanning the ship. You do not get a destination from the wake, however. Our theory at the moment is that the ship simply returns to "normal space" for it. Which is what we call witchspace.

-So far these hyperdictions are occurring inside the UA shell. And the ship seems to be pointing people AT the Pleiades nebula itself. Not sure if that's significant.

-The few "brave" CMDRs who have attempted shooting the ship, have done no damage to it, and it completely disregarded them. Let's hope this doesn't provoke war in the future.

-Spectrograms of the noise the ship makes so far have been inconclusive.


I'm sure I'm missing a few things.. Its been.. hectic..

They got me too boys, spammed the camera, got some shots off, but it didn't retailiate.

Pleiades Sector MN-T c3-14 was the sector i dropped into

Modules unharmed, nothing bad happened.

2 UA's on board. Can also confirm crash site two is untouched. As it was as discovered.

E: I can confirm the event triggers multiple times. Happened again two jumps after initial jump.

Final FULL update as I head off to bed - wall of text but this is as it happened:

Story so far at 1:21am on 6/1/17:

No confirmed encounters without a UA onboard yet. Some unconfirmed reports of encoutners with MA onboard.

Corvette in first encounter jumped to Aries Dark Region XU-O B6-3 in first video and from Pleiades Sector DR-M B7-2 to Pleiades Sector OI-T C3-8 while being interdicted during a jump on the way to Maia in the later video. Second in Hyades Sector WJ-Z b3 and Third in Pleiades Ector BR-M B7-

Corvette reportedly had no UAs onboard according to wing pilot (conflicting reports on this) but the second video shows the ship with 6AUs

CMDR Redden Alt Mer encountered one travelling from Pleiades Sector OD-S b4-2 to Pleiades Sector RY-R b4-1

DJ Truthsayer encountered one while streaming and shot at it. It took no damage and jumped away. He sacnned the wake and got the same unknown wake scan. He tried jujmping while targetting the wake and received a message that the drive was malfunctioning.

4) Encounter: One Thargoid ship, had 1 UA in hold and 2 MA's. Scanned me and sped off, scanned ship and Unknown wake, didn't honk discovery scanner or fire at ship, weapons power was drained
EDIT: jump destination was supposed to be PLEIADES SECTOR HR-W D1-S7 (or D1-57, unsure) and he got thrown out of hyperspace at PLEIADES SECTOR IH-V C2-12 instead

Im going to see how close they'll chase me to the bubble. Bearing in mind the current locations range anywhere from just outside the bubble to maia, its damn close. The first contact system was less than 200 ly from the Balones community goal that started today.

The alien ship looks like opening hyperspace/portal/gate by "shooting" with something right in front of it.

Also, I'd suggest ppl checking out Merope 5c once again, just in case, as well as Pleiades sector (i suppose ppl are doing that already). Might find something out there.

Has anyone gotten scanned with an Ancient Relic in their hold yet?

Wonder if that would give a different response. Being stuck at work with all this new stuff sucks.

Figured I'd test the UA vs. no UA theory. I got hyperdicted immediately after a friend gave me a UA, but now that I don't have one I'm getting nothing. Could just be confirmation bias and bad luck, but I don't know.
