Could be based on some other common factors. Combat rank? Exploration rank? Maybe they are only interdicting Commanders that have Palin's UA resistant cargo holds?

Could be rank/I'm master in combat/broker/ and ranger, sadly I havent even unlocked palin yet But i have been to the barni's/crashs and the Ruins so it might just be a simple "have they seen/visited these?"
Could be possible its based on If you've been near a UA or alloy

Thats just half true! In the shadow yeah youre right but for example we can get over 100*C in Earth orbit if we have direct sunlight!

well guys, after mopping up the last 50 or so pages (haven´t been interdicted myself yet though) I´d say from the videos taken, some conclusions might be drawn (IMHO)

working theory:
- UP, UA and Unknown Vessel are from same or similar technology
* both use same field-type propulsion system, indicated by the "flurry" space around them
* UP and UV use same type of scanning equipment, temporarily shutting down our tech
* as UV seems to be attracted to UA, UP, Metalloys (although hyperdicting other vessels less frequent too) there is a chance that they do a type of manifest scan from Witchspace before hyperdicting

If so, imho its more unlikely that the UV is of Thargoid origin, as UP are monitoring Ammonia Worlds, which should be possible candidates for Thargoid - eemh - infestation

In a near vacuum temperature is an almost meaningless concept.

I just had an encounter. Did maybe 50 short economic jumps around the Pleiades in a Cobra before it triggered. I'm not Elite, highest rank is deadly in Combat. I was carrying 1 UA, and some fragments. I tried disco scan, but not sure if I managed to complete it before the ship jumped away.

If it turns out that the disco can't spool up quickly enough, I wonder if we'll see a future engineer mod that reduces the spool up time?

Well, yawn. Should've reminded myself about the times I've wasted before the altar of RNG
- Not finding UA convoys
- Not finding UP convoys
- Trying to meet up with the "The hunt" participants
- Trying to find new UAs
- Trying to find any of the unregistered probes
- Trying to make Walker Survey fail with UA bombing (GG all; it's impossible)

... before embarking tonight. 4 hours and over 100 jumps later...
- No UAs found in the shell (after 1 hour looking + jumping around, 5 USS found, my normal UA farming system)
- No UPs found near ammonia planets in pleiades sector (after 1 hour, 4 USS found, have found UPs at this planet before)
- No jumping thanks to transaction errors for 1 hour.
- 90 minutes of economic jumping between reported hyperdiction locations, with no encounters.

What a waste of time... Finally!

Was anyone able to encounter it more than once? I've already encountered it before, but now I have a UP, a UA, and a meta alloy in my hold and wanted to see if there was any change in the event when it scans me. Tried jumping a bunch to trigger it again and no luck.
