I still believe this should read :
- Increase number of missions sent to clients as we're only sending relevant missions now, so we can make good use of the improved efficiency and guarantee a suitable, evenly spread Mission board even in Systems with many Factions within

Oh well, we'll see if the average Faction is now down to as little as 3-4 Missions due to reducing the already too low amount of total Missions even further.

No, decrease is correct. Before the server would send you too much mission data and the client would then filter it and that's what you got to see. Now It's being filtered before it's sent over the network. This should lead to less traffic and faster load time for the mission board.

Trading ships now have more 'survivability' than a multi-role ship. This means that ships which are designed to potentially (and do) go into combat zones have less hit points than a space white Ford Transit Van. It doesn't compute. At least not to me.

To be fair, a cargo truck is quite durable.

Combat does not necessarily mean durability alone. Except if you are a fed. Then you are allowed to be durable and turn around like a vulture as soon as you buy a FAS with its magic unicorn engines.

I can say that if I were to drive a Ford transit van, loaded with goodies in an environment where I am likely to be shot at by big guns ..you can bet your best Turnip I'm gonna make that thing as armoured as a tank!

who's been busy boys then:)

thanks for all the hard work, I know its hard pleasing everyone, but you do a great attempt at it.

cheers

I get where you are coming from but the balance is that you can't fit a giant cannon to that transit van. :p

nice fixes, changes, improvements ... keep this spirit for whole 2017

now, can we get Military variant of Python please? with some size 3 or 4 military slot :D

Only Time can be an answer and response to your post Cmdr, let's see if what they have done works and not created even more irritating issues like most updates seem to do nowadays.

Time will tell us all!

The irony is that trade ships (lakon 6, 7 and 9) are now actual ford transits (panel vans that are durable) and not canvas covered flat-beds.

Neither the (now) Ford Transit, or the old canvas covered flat-bed happen to be an Abrams Tank. Closer to armoured truck. Which of course is a ludicrous concept because why would trucks be built with any sort of durability? [noob]

I'm not sure, but I don't think anyone has asked whether commodities have been removed from engineer blueprints yet?

:p

Trying to be more constructive:

Missions

- Reduce number of missions sent to clients as we're only sending relevant missions now

I am guessing, but I understood it as being linked to:
Missions

- Fix the mission generation iteration limitor as it was preventing missions from spawning and thus decreasing board size

If I've guessed/understood correctly, the server generates a bunch of missions. Previously all these were sent to the client but we didn't get to see all of them (not sure why not - impossible to complete maybe??). Now they are filtered so that only those relevant to the client/user are sent (hopefully improving performance).

Presumably still on the server, there is also a limiter to stop insane numbers of missions being generated. That was however limiting numbers of missions too much.

So hopefully what we're left with is an increased pool of missions being generated on the server, but only the relevant ones sent to us. Leading, fingers crossed, to both more missions showing for us and better performance when opening the mission board.

Edit: Ninja'd by Zimms who said it far more succinctly.

Why has the SRV scanner bug not been fixed? I mean, come on, FD, how can you not fix this with top priority over some stupid alien cutscene? The srv is the only way to use on the surface of planets to locate materials!

Sorry, but I really have to say I am very very disappointed!

+1 this. I'd never use the SRV because of this bug, but I need mats :(
