I'm probably wrong, but wouldn't the changes take some time to kick in on the BGS?

I'm not talking state changes, just the Missions associated for the current State. Which is what the Mission Generation System should take to build its templates.

Effectively I'm seeing :
- zero Missions (any) for several Factions
- zero Missions even for those currently engaged in a BGS State (War)
- total amount of Missions for this 7-Faction System is way too low to be any useful
 
Look i know you are all purposely ignoring me, but this action will not stop me from asking about Biotech thingys............... I have not much work to do this afternoon and the boss is out so the forum is at my mercy! ;)
 
A lot of good stuff here Frontier. The shield regen changes should have been more aggressive, and shield stacking with boosters basically has to go. It was always a bad idea, and the wrong fix for the problems created by a fixed regen rate. Still this is a (baby) step in the right direction.

Torpedos still need a complete rework. Think WW-I torpedos, not Hollywood missiles which stay on the target no matter what.

- Federal Dropship: 2x size 4
- Federal Gunship 3x size 4
- Federal Assault ship: 2x size 4

This is a missed opportunity. The Assault Ship is unnaturally fast and agile for it's size and mass. It could have been balanced a little by making these 1, 2, 3. That is, by giving it just a single military slot.

Missions sometimes do take a while to get to a normal state.

For what it's worth, during the beta when this change went into effect, it took a day or so before all the systems I checked had normalized to the new state. I expect we'll be able to tell in 24 hours what the changes really look like.

It also has paper thin shields and has been unable to protect it's own hard points since missiles were buffed and since shield tanking became the main viable strategy. This is why it's not much of a PVP ship anymore. This fix allows it to compete once again with the FDL (in theory) which I suspect is why it's been done. For a long time open has just been a sea of FDLs...

WHY, FD? WHY?!!

You do realize that it was fun and engaging to be able to find massacre targets outside of the CZ's, right? So you took a mission that had a range of immersive play options and nerfed it into a CZ mini-game.

The issue here - as i think - is that cutter is too good at everything. It's currently end-game ship for combat (at least when humans are involved, because you can kill npcs even in rusty bucket), it's end-game for trading, and only conda beats it - and in exploration.

Why not make it that way:

Conda - best explorer
Cutter - best trader
Corvette - best combat ship

? That can be achieved by giving corvette couple more military modules (and replacing small weapons to medium, but i digress).
 
Well, just logged in and had a view around - and it's as bad (even worse) than I feared. Nothing has improved.

No Missions. None.
Two Factions at war (including the one I need to Support). Nope, noone needs anything. Nothing. Zero.

Factions present in System : 7
Standard Missions on Board : 9
Passenger Missions on Board : 0

Total amount of Missions for the entire System : 9
9 Missions for 7 Factions. You do the math.

Yep, that's what's I normally call a failure. Such a Mission System is what I consider utterly useless, especially since Faction states should define what is relevent and what is not.
This Mission Generation System apparently thinks Factions at War have nothing relevant they would ever need help with ;)

I'd say that's straight back to the drawing board.
Ensure every Mission board has a guaranteed 20 Missions at all times and that every Faction has a minimum of State-dependent Missions at all times... then we're talking a functional and correctly working Mission System.
I guess until then it's either rampant mode-hopping to get any single Mission at all - or accept that just no Missions are available for a prolonged time and seek alternative ways to achieve results.

Mission can take a while to update after a patch. Give it some time. I am just hoping my current passenger mission doesn't disapear as I am halfway through a 6000ly trip for 16 million.

Either way, the "fixed Mission System" was the one thing I was really looking forward in 2.2.03.
Hence my disappointment seeing things go from bad to worse :(

Oh well, we have to work with whatever little we have. At least a War I can win the oldschool way, even if at least a small single Mission on top would be nice to have.

Now I found 2 (even large ones) Warzone missions.

That'll work. Off into the Conflict Zone it is then!
