I'm talking about finding that kind of objects while on ground, recall my ship, taking off vertically and not seen any blue POIs. And the objects are there after landing again. I didn't got a single POI in the whole search area while airborne. Is this a normal behavior?.
For non-persistent POI's, my experience has always been that they only show up while flying within a certain range of the randomly generated object, and then only display on your scope for a few seconds. If your first discovery of the object was on the surface via the SRV, I have never seen the blue circle show up after getting back into the ship and taking off. Again, this is for non-persistent POI's.
Ok. Thank you. It's weird to find a lot of non-persistent man made objects while on SRV and not see a single POI flying at the right altitude and minimum speed. I made tests in another planets within the same systems, same metodology, and got a few sparse blue POIs, some of them apparently empty.
But if this is usual, I'm glad to know it. Another weird idea discarded.
Ok, I'm slightly ticked(?) off at this point but figured "whatever, while I'm here I'll just cross the Rift like a man!"
I usually take the Heisenberg crossing, and now I'm just plotting my own course for the first time. I'm about half way without using any jump boosts so that's going pretty well. If I get killed by an alien on the other side of the Rift I wouldn't even mind. I'd just take some pretty screenhots. (no movies though. I play borderless and Shadowplay doesn't seem to like that any. Tips are welcome: doesn't shadowplay work with borderless?)
Anyway, spacemadness seems to be creeping in. That's why I keep ramblin more and more in this here tavern.
Folks,
Don't have an update per se, but I'm getting the vibes that a fix isn't immediately imminent (ie, just a switch on). If I hear anything concrete I will post asap.
Cheers,
Drew.
Still think braben should sack a few employees over this debacle starting with management. Time for some new minds and fresh approaches. Just an opinion by the way, everyone's allowed one.
Just a thought...when the heart nebula disappears, it must mean something. It can't just be a bug that they haven't been able to fix in two years...c'mon. They can't say it isn't a bug because that would give it away. Maybe it means we are on the right track for something that we need to do next. Like step 1 of 3 or some like that.
I would love a fix today but I'll be happy enough if we can get a ETA so I can decide if I stay in the rift or go back to the bubble to fondle and abuse the ancient ruins

Someone has asked Sandy about it in the beta wrap-up thread so maybe there wil at least be some clarification of what the hell is going on.

When they announced update 2.2.03 I'd just got back to the bubble the day before from Jacques and seriously considered jumping in my long range Asp and buckyballing out to the rift ready for when it dropped. Have to say that I'm so glad I didn't bother and stayed in the bubble tweaking some engineering mods instead, I'd have gone mad if I'd jumped 10k straight back out only to have to fly round cooling my heels for days not having a clue what was going on.
Wise move. I stayed out here during the beta and have now taken to counting all the rocks on the planet's surface. If I finish that before this is fixed, I'll start naming them. [big grin]
You are going to have to put up a fight for those naming rights.
