Wasn't the CTD right next to a crater? like the east edge of the crater. around -17, -169 ?
From reading the initial bug report, CTD's were happening all over the place. It's possible there are multiple things to find, or not.

There is. It kept crashing on me (3D Map) but now that I was able to launch it, I can see what you meant...wow! Are those dots only stars commanders visited? In another words if nobody jumped into a system, it won't be displayed here?
MAUXUS - I been thinking about the same thing, that is "where the stars thin out" along the RR-Line. 3D wasn't enough, I went 5D and created an animated plot. The data is from the EDSM; you can see how the systems thin out along the galactic plane (Y-axis) past EAFOTS (the area on our map in red and labeled "very sparse").
The size of the spheres in the plot is based on system density and the color from when the last update. You can follow the "older" blue trails, and "newer" red ones.
The idea is show what areas have been explored and when.

Very impressive... But... 5D? Making it spin does not add two dimensions...
Z...
I kinda got lost in the thread, I was reading the Part 2 thread and it told me to come Part 3 and I was to lazy to read all 576 pages. So what happened? did we find the Rift? or is the search still on? I've read some reply's that talk about bugs and Frontier fixing stuff so whats all that about?

I think we have something strange here. As Drew mentioned Rift mystery is not on planet (you do not need Horizons for solving it). He's last posts concerns beacons not showing in the system. I did't saw them (beacons) so i don't know how they can be relevant - but - Beacons means this system is important for some reason - maybe it is update for RR line Reorte->EAFOTS ?
Anyway im staying here - no alien artefact mission will distract me from chasing the rabbit
Aaaaand sorry for bad english![]()
UnderstoodDuring the CG, unregistered comms beacons were found in a number of systems around this area of the Rift, as well as in the Conflux and Hawkins Gap.
Their broadcasts referenced expedition rally points in their system on planet surfaces. So now we're down on the planet D1 looking for whatever the beacon was pointing to.
Which we can't do because it's all turned off!

Understoodbut still, no idea what we are supposed to find on planet surely not rift mystery...
I had the same problem with shadowplay: it required me to go fullscreen, even if i had desktop capture enabled.
On my end it was a video driver problem, updating them fixed the problem.
So shadowplay does record borderless, but:
1) you have to install the latest video drivers
2) the borderless window must be the main screen in windows settings (if you are using more than one monitor)
3) the "desktop capture" function must be enabled in the shadowplay settings.
These steps solved my borderless problems (3 days ago)
I hope it helps.
Bumbling developers...
Tis the way of the Rifter: We confuse bugs for content and content for bugs.![]()
Still no response from FDEV in either this, the bug reports or the one that Zac A. Posted even in MB's favourite thread Aliens etc. How long does it take to give a simple status update?
Every point on his plot represents a set of five scalars (x,y,z, size, time), in vector mathematics this would be represented by a 5-dimensional vector.
So even though the geometric shape is still 3D, he's technically correct... the best kind of correct.![]()
Just a thought, why not just PM someone? I'd do it myself but I'm a little busy at work at the moment.
