I'm rather confused at some people making a difference between Casket + Orb e.g. and Orb + Casket. No matter which order I transfer them they appear as Casket first and Orb second in my crago hold...

i dont think it makes a difference as it will always list it in alphabetical order.

Not that I can speak for everyone, but if I wrote it up like that it would be the difference between using the Casket as the key item twinned with the Orb, or the Orb as the key item twinned with the Casket. Works in different areas for different classes of result.

What the... I was in solo play (sure for that, even now, after rebuy I see I am in solo play), some distance from ruins, definitely not there, I left my ship for couple of minutes (maybe even >30min.) and went to real life. Now I am back and see that someone destroyed my ship. Zenth it was called, or sth? Sorry for names, naming, shaming... but what names in solo play?! [cry]

Off the puzzle for a moment - I did mention that I thought the Aliens had Creatures that they engineered and they may well be what our first contact event was about...."Flower Creatures"

Well the Tech 11 info states : QUOTE:" As well as biological warfare agents, they also created creatures expressly for use in battle, and these remained effective even into the modern era." Worth noting :)

^^^^
I thought the same!!

It's just logical if they "engineered" these "Flower creatures" for warfare. The ships are then supported (or even completely operated) by the mentioned AI.

Hey folks, this could be nothing but I've got an idea and no way to test it tonight.
TIL: bring multiple SRVs.

The patterns on the ground around obelisk clusters look a lot like places things should be put. Receptacles almost. Will test out tomorrow evening if nobody else tries, but check this out.

The rectangular one actually has an arrow on it, and the green coloration that the artifacts have too. I've also noticed that inertia and gravity are pretty lax and buggy on the artifacts, which makes me wonder if there's something in the code checking their position and causing a bug in motion.

Let me know if this is tinfoil too.
I believe this got missed because it sat in moderation queue for a bit.
Also messed up picture embedding, fixed now.

I've had a couple of occasions of npcs spawning in Solo and being scanned while in my SRV. I get the feeling they found your ship and went into attack mode. More likely to happen if you were carrying cargo.

could you have run out of fuel and blown up in that time? i noticed that the SRV even when stationary uses fuel, in 2 hours i have gone through 2 tanks, however my ship as im not actually in it isnt using fuel.

I've seen npc ships about, on a whim I decided to follow the potato to see if any more ruins under the orbit (no idea as game crashed) but I did see a lone npc cobra heading opposite direction to me.

It's what we tried yesterday, on stream. I don't recommend you watch it though - but you have a summary here:
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...9-The-Canonn?p=5005184&viewfull=1#post5005184

The point was to do a test in a controlled environment with only a few commanders.

Thanks. I'll see if I can watch it later.

Did you try dropping a primary object in the zone, or maybe stockpiling some of them e.g. laying a casket next to an active obelisk in zone G, then approaching an obelisk with another object (one only) to see if it reproduces the results or offers new results?
Maybe carrying a different secondary object to see if the Fail message appears? If the Fail message does not appear when doing that, it means the Key lying adjacent to the obelisk is interacting with the obelisk from outside the hold. (Perhaps indicated by mismatching objects appear at the spawn points e.g. an Urn and an orb in sector G) If that were the case, it would open the door for obelisks requiring 3 or more objects to be used when scanning.

Maybe even leaving objects in places such as the ones described here?

I mean I was in my ship, not SRV. And I had cargo (objects from ruins). I don't know... Maybe an NPC... But I thought this planet is clear from them...

Is there a way we can withdraw submitted mistakes to the spreadsheet? I found how to get Language 11 last night (Tablet plus Urn) at Obelisk 16 in Group C (see here), however I misread the linked map and thought it was obelisk 15.

Keep sciencing guys, I've never been so excited to participate in a community event! :D

i was using the SRV as a reference, but i assume that the ship does the same when stationery as life support and stuff are still active so should be using fuel as well.

That would be useful. I suspect a lot of inconsistencies in the spreadnaught are due to lag in messages coming through for the last scanned obelisk.

Hey CMDRs, sorry about this but I've been searching the forums without finding an answer.. could someone just briefly explain how the active obelisks are working now?

A few days ago i was aware of 15 specific active obelisks, and maps were circulating with them marked out. The new map has them all marked, I assume because the obelisks are becoming active in different variations? RNG or are they being triggered by something?

Cheers guys, the job you're all doing is fantastic. I'm working on compiling my finds to add to the spreadsheet but my job is taking alot of my time!

Now would be a good time to try to flesh out Mengy's measurements into x,y,z distances. At the moment the distances are in spherical, not x,y,z unless I've misunderstood how Mengy did the measurements.

My measurements weren't spherical, they were SRV to SRV done in Mobius group with a few others.

I'll be back to the ruins tonight after work to take new measurements and see if any distances have changed, purely out of curiosity.
