It seems to me, if your data storage is full, you don't see any data-pattern when you scan the obelisks (not only can you not store them, but you don't even see what they were), but possibly also you don't get the Ram Tah message. I just cleared out the data storage and now I'm getting his message each time. I'd appreciate it if anyone could confirm, or if it just was a coincidence.

Edit - ignore! I just disproved it myself! :)

I tried:
1) scanning first obelisk in pair until i get one single alpha/beta/etc pattern
2) Take a casket (I chose an item randomly) to the 'pair' location and scan that
3) Check all obelisks for non-standard activation
4) Relog until I have all patterns

None of the patterns matched [blah] Still like the idea - maybe will try with totem tomorrow as I think ppl weren't finding that matching much, and maybe others.

Didn't try the variation with the 'base' item - not sure what would you do if you (e.g.) scan alpha + beta - no room in hold for base item as well as two objects??

Anyway, a nice idea, not too much magic, would buy again:)

Many things are afoot now, and we need a place to manage that. This Thread. Its already vast enough without reading 200+ pages devoted to just one topic.

Honestly think we can get better work done when everyone isn't so overwhelmed.

It's working out quite well with the FR thread and Aliens found Thread. They take the brunt and the good stuff comes here. What ya think?

So 2 hours trying stuff in my own PG - nothing to show for it.
Jump in Mobius PVE 2mins sat in my ship - a new data scan arrives, I'm up to 23M now - not exactly a lot of motivation to try and solve this by myself!
( 12M from me following the spreadsheet and driving around for a couple of hours and 11M for sitting in my ship doing nothing )

While I was typing this on one screen ED did CTD on the other!

5-6 hours of play today and that's only my 2nd CTD in that time, is that good, bad or average for players at the ruins ?

Well, that's not good. I'd go further and say it's a load of utter fish.

(Not criticising you, take the easy money! But a) it's pretty un-challenging for you. And b) those of us in Solo or alone in PG/Open instances might just be completely wasting our time trying to solve this. :mad: )

I wasn't clearing it completely, just leave 10 items of each for the 5 letter, just to stop me from running out - not sure why I don't delete all.
Each instance uses different letter on each scan regardless. Not even the same number of letter, ie:
I1 G18 C+U = D/D
I2 G18 C+U = A
I3 G18 C+U = E

Don't want to start a wild alien chase but some of the structures at the ruins are pointing almost exactly at the California Nebula.

If they used Electromagnetic propulsion and basically just pointed and launched in a direction.. Wouldn't the Cali nebula look like an interesting target?

Hi Guys,

Just found something that might be completely irrlevant to this thread but since we are hunting for clues in complete darkness i thought i will put this out in open.

Ram Tahal Choudhary is an institute in mumbai, india (http://www.rtcit.ac.in) and as far as I can remeber there are about six stations/hubs named Chaudhary. So, maybe FD is giving us some clues with that name and we can check the coordinates of this institute and maybe there is something to find in one of those stations / systems.

Again this could be complete waste of time on my part looking at irrelevant things but when I go home tonight i will try to find the coordinates and check these systems for any clues I can find.

I know this was mentioned a fair few pages back but can't seem to find the answer... What's the deal with the piano music randomly playing? I thought it signified the correct match between ancient item and active obelisk, but didn't give me any ancient data?

I dont know if it could help or someone see this, but after i played some time with a image of the ruins, i could see there are some lines and triangles, and they are often connected to each other.
I tryed more and try to be as acurate as I could. Take a look:

I think, most lines are too long, but if it could fit with some star-maps, I thought it would be better.
What do you think?

If anyone has tried: What happens when you cash in the mission? Do you just get the 12m reward or whatever you have right now? Does it delete itself then? If yes, does it restart? If yes, can you earn the signals all over again?

without having to read through 800+ posts, if this is not attainable in solo I am out! actually now that there is a doubt that it can or cannot and it has not been confirmed I am out regardless. have fun all enjoy.

found a (imho) good target for one of the arks:



distance from Synuefe d11-102 A2a just 1,69 Ly, so quite a short trip for a generation-ship
(I am still convinced that d11-102 is the homeworld, a landing site doesn´t require the catapults does it ? - and the two circular structures are build on top of the original habitational area, U do that only if U leave anyway....)
