Interesting features on the moon. Re logged to see if it was a graphical issue. It was still there when I returned. Probably nothing but a bug but interesting never the less. Its on the moon orbiting the ruins. Will scout the area just to be sure its nothing.

Saw that also. Made my heart skip a beat :p

It looks like a compute error, but does it have a diamond cross-section?

Yes it does.

I'm pretty sure the obelisk pulsing varies with how close your get with your SRV. Yesterday I noticed that a further obelisk was pulsing much faster and deeper than the one that I was next to, but then they switched when I moved my SRV in front of the other.

Your SRV or what is in your SRV ?

I'm assuming no-one has been able to scoop up a piece of ancient pillar, right? They generally become inactive once shot off from around the relics. I thought I saw an intact one on the ground in Mobius but I think it was just stuck underground in a slight bug (apparently beneath an already extended entire pillar).

They don't give anything when scanned; I was pondering if there was any reason for them to exist as game objects, unless they have to to be able to be shot away.

I've also been focusing on the pillars. As you point out, they can be scanned, unless they are shot off. And the mysterious glyphs at the base of the beacons could be instructions on how to use them as control points. Taking each side of the beacon as pairs of glyphs, I can see a possible "translation", "rotation" or "scramble", and maybe "off". Basic scanning didn't seem to have an effect so far, so I'll try it with different items in my cargo hold.

are those raised towers the locations of 4 sites i wonder?

Middle one on the key could be this location and then other 3 somewhere else.

Could be way off of course, seems we need other locations to solve this puzzle as the initial mission says from more than 1 site.

Yes it does.

This is so tenuous it's silly, but what the hell...

In the middle row...
- the glyph on the right *could* be a waxing/waning moon, kindof. Maybe the Guardian's were short-sighted, or art wasn't their strong point? /shrug
- the glyph on the left is a diamond, the possible compute error on the moon would be 'diamondish' when viewed from above.

The bottom row has some weird stuff:
- the left glyph could be a ring? or an eye? (or just about anything circular - scanner/whatever /shrug).
- the right glyph could be anything. (spinning asteroids? with a random line thrown in for some reason?).

The top row:
- left is incomprehensible.
- right is a triangle and a dot. (could be a relic, could be the ruins, could be that someone just really liked triangles).

Any way to tell which ones you've found? I've been trying to keep a list, but I just got something with tablet + casket at either G31 or G32 and it disappeared from my inbox before I could read it.

The simple pulsing behavior I'm referring to works with an empty cargo hold. Just tested the range at obelisk cluster G. Looks like all active obelisks within 35 m of your SRV will be synchronized, then start to blink out faster and deeper at >35 m. Nothing exciting, just shows their powered range.

Just had an idea from the phrase "stepping stone".

What if there is a "pressure plate" or a "proximity" mechanism (like the relic towers) that activates more obelisks, and in open cmdrs are activating it by accident all the time, or landing their ships on it or something.

Their locations are surely of importance, but i'm not so sure about the ruins = galactic map since the monoliths are so full of information! And the information is apparently readable/decodable by mr. Ram, so if there is information in the ruins about more Guardian locations in the galaxy it should be contained in a data set somehow. Still, the ruins are layed out in an interesting manner so i'm not abandoning the map theory completely.

The fact that the information we've gathered so far tells us about the Guardians being a galactic race makes me just want to explore so much right now. With possible "arcs" to be found, similar to our generation ships (moving at slower than light speed etc), although finding them will be just as hard or even harder than finding our own... How did we lose the generation ships in the first place? Surely some old fart on Earth has the logs from that time detailing the general direction in which they flew :p

I'm sure of one thing, though, that we NEED to find the other ruins. Ram mentions other locations several times in the data talks. If the initial ruins had been found in the way Fdev had planned for us then finding the rest might have been easier, but I don't know what method they were expecting.

it seems to me some more resources are needed to look for the other sites to help and solve the puzzle/task at hand.

I may just do this, i have a bug at present and so cant do any more at this site until its fixed.
My srv refuses to refuel no matter what i do and i see some others have the same issue, i have reported it.
Im back at a station presently and am transferring my old ASP to see if a srv in that shows the same issue to rule out Anaconda/srv bug on my account.

This is absolutely my favourite theory on a secondary ruins location. Is the moon in the same orientation every time it passes through the "gun sight"?

Could someone at the ruins do me a massive favour please? I didn't think to do this before I relocated, but could someone snap overhead images of the ruins from different altitudes please so that I know vaguely what the structures look like from various heights when poring over the surface of the moon.

I'm currently parked at the red dot if anyone has any bright ideas on where to hunt.

Same thinking here, the moon is very interesting and I think we will find something on that moon to find the next ruins.

Ram Tha says something about the way they communicate via sounds. But they need relaystations to transmit that even if they are biomechanical relais or ways of communication like we would build a base on our moon as outpost. Also a big question, why this planet, why did they build a fabric or a communication system on that planet? Something has to be near... why should have they picked a dusty, dirty Planet without atmo??? As observationstation like we do on high mountains?

Did someone notice the "arrows" on the "walls"?

Seems to me that Ram Tah is withholding vital info that would help with the search.

Has anyone tried overlaying the map onto barnards loop?

The outer shape seems to line up with the shape of barnards loop, not sure if its a clue to where another set of ruins may be or just a coincidence.

Also, the moon for the ruins planet also seems to set directly in line with the ruins, maybe it points to another site on that moon?

Ive spent a few hours flying around it but its hard to spot things in VR!
