When I've been there in Mobius PVE there are usually 6-8 others there. But they come and go and sometimes it empties out for a while.

Solo does feel rather lonely, especially with the ruins on the dark side.

Check your Friends in Mobious - you'll see they are in "Open" when they are in Mobious.
Bug. Broken session.
You wont see them.

Mobius and Mobius PVE are two separate PVE groups totalling 38,000 players.

Im pretty sure you should be able to see others in there, Ive been in Mobius all afternoon and had no less than 6 players with me at the ruins all the time, causing lots of Crashes, but at least it wasnt lonely.

has anyone noticed when a Relic is Jettisoned, sometimes it stands upright, while other times it lays on its side. Basically wondering if they can be "placed" in a standing position that may have some effect?

I thinks it's totally random. I tried someone's idea to drop the relics at the ends of group E long rows, but nothing happened.

Have people tried to wing up and every player in the wing drives in his SRV to one of the pillars? If they change their signal when a SRV is close, maybe something happens when all 4 are "activated" the same time.

May be coincidence, but
there are 4 pillars
4 players can be in a wing

worth a try, right?

Also all pillars need to contain the Artifact i'd say. Makes no sense without.

Something feels odd to me. I was in Mobius PvE with quite a lot of people around and after a while it was just me and another person so I tried getting another instance by relogging only to end in the same one with that other commander. I went to Open and ended totally alone there, relogged and ended in that same instance again alone. I tried Mobius PvE once more, ended in a different instance but it was very low pop in there, 4 people including me. So I finally tried Mobius and it was just me and 2 other commanders. It seems that I am only getting low pop instances.

I scanned ALL systems in a radius of 25Ly around XR-H d11-102, found a total of 4 similar bodies
2 of them in the neighbor-system - just 1,69Ly away, but here Temp doesn´t fit to well, another one in d11-34 and
a very promising candidate (actually 4 of 6 moons) in HR 3057 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e.
2b is nearly a twin, circling 2 (a ringed Y-type Star) tidal locked in 2.5d, having 0.1 g Gravity, Temp 310K and Arsen (2,5) too...
might be worth looking further.

Add. 2b has in the same coordinates like the ruins a ravine system too, unfortunatly just now also in the dark, I will do an inspection tomorrow or Monday when its lit...

They are under each of the ancient relics. The center piece that circles the others is frozen until the relic is raised from the ground, once it is raised it begins to spin in a circle inside the other 3 pieces. Have looked into it loads already. My guess is it is just something under the hood that relates to the relics rising, development wise.

They act as sound emitters. Only an effect. Not important.

So why do the sneaky Alliance like fungus so much? . just having a nearby material source at the bases? doubtful but with the second alliance outpost built in the california nebula located right next to a fungal site.
Placement of the fungas seems odd compared to the few sites i have seen, but just like at Mic turner base , their second outpost also has a fungal garden behind it.

I was out this was curious if they had added the 2nd alliance base in that patch , so while doing a study on the barnacles here, thought i would keep a look out to where they placed it.. and to see if that placement was odd like the first base.

Well they like fungas it seems. but the system will keep me busy exploring, many moons and planets to explore. Most likely there will be more to discover, and why they chose this system. Sneaky,,

Yes. For the working session, you'll see people as normal.
The broken session - here's what it looks like when you check your friend status. you'll clearly see that the server thinks it's a "open" session.
Privategroup - will appear as Open:

Resolution: All members of the PG-session must quit out to launcher and start up the game again.

My partner and I have acquired 13 data points from PG.
After seeing this threads comments about other points not reported on GingerHuntsmans search results,https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1lURLEmaznAYqYhsAHT3bLfvRdyLnF7VF4lMVpbMG0qY/edit#gid=608079533 we tested the following:

H16 = Casket+Relic ( By scanning all obelisks in "casket" area seen on "multiple artifact" tab map via above link)
H13 = Casket+Totem (By scanning all obelisks in "casket" area seen on "multiple artifacts" tab map via above link)
L10 = Tablet + Totem (By scanning all obelisks in "tablet" AND "casket" area seen on "multiple artifacts" tab map via above link)
L11 = Tablet + Urn (By scanning all obelisks in "tablet" AND "urn" area seen on "multiple artifacts" tab map via above link)
C11 = Totem(yet to test if actually Orb) + Relic (Scanning everything on the site)

We tested the above in a PG and we could only confirm H16 worked for both of us.
We switched to open play and the strangest thing happened.

L11 = Confirmed by myself
L10 = Confirmed by my partner

We were in the same open play instance but we didn't get each others data point. So my partner did the same as i did for L11 and it didn't work. I then did the same as he did for L10 and it didn't work. This leads me to believe that the "special" obelisks may have a pick up limit on them somehow.
I've relogged so many times and tried H13, L10 and C11 (with totem not orb) over and over, but still I get nothing.
We've even tried the most recent theory of "activating the relic beacons" but this doesn't change anything. This leads me to believe that maybe the "special obelisks" data points at limited to 2 per day. I'll try them again tomorrow to see if I can pick up any more, but a few things are clear:

1. some obelisks are only obtainable in open play, for whatever reason
2. special obelisks can't all be obtained in one go
3. culture obelisks combinations are pure by pure luck so far with reports of them being collected only by camping the site in open play with others doing the SRV scanning. There haven't been any posts with replicable evidence that culture data points are being collected from obelisks

I hope this helps give everyone a baseline for where we're currently at with confirmed combinations:

13 in private or solo games with up to 17-18 confirmed with evidence from SRV scanning and not site camping.
The max I've seen from a player site camping is 34

I'd love to know if anyone has more info on the Culture combinations

Finally someone posting actual science data and not just wild speculation about geometry. Thank you. I agree to everything you said.

Except L10 was Tablet + Casket for me. Maybe it's typo above, since you wrote tablet + casket area?

L11 and L10 were obtained in PG for me, so it is possible. I guess you only had a limited amount of special obelisks turn on in your PG and open has a higher chance to have random special obelisks active, so that's why you got it quicker in open.

I am at 18 now and I think I will give it one more day of proper testing and then just use the ship-camping-bug to get to 30+ and turn it in.

That´s standard-behaviour since the game was launched. Nothing new, it also happens to other groups. Especially when you are kicked out of an instance and the rest of the group is at the same place where you will spawn. Nothing new and 100 times reported/ticketed.

Tried that one a few hours ago, nothing happened indeed. I also shot the "protecting magnetic blocks" from all 4 beacons, so all 4 relics where floating in thin air... for extra "transmitting power" to the obelisks... so they would reactivate..... i really liked my idea.. but no luck. After that I got a disconnect from the server.

One thing i didnt tried is transferring all 4 relics too one group of obelisks to reactivate them..

There has to be something with those relics... they are the same colour as the obelisks...they seem to share the same kind of energy..

I think that the whole alien archaeological site suggest that many obelisks should only be activated on a certain day. Maybe when the planets and the sun are aligned. we know if and when there will be an eclipse?

commanders Z@pp Rowsdower, Vaperton, Gilgamesh2399, MrCivilian and I just did some testing. Based on that apparently more players around only makes a difference in obelisk activating if everyone has artifacts in their hold. It makes no difference how many people are around otherwise. Also, if one player reconnects, obelisks in the entire instance are affected. I don't know if these were known facts or not but I wanted to post our findings.

I got my unique Culture data by scanning, not by leeching. I can't tell if you can reproduce it, but here it is FYI: I got Culture 7/20 at E18 with an orb and totem.
