SHIP TRANSFER - Way too expensive / Jumping for hours = WASTE of time

Really if it's such a massive problem buy a second ship and park it somewhere and have a shuttle with a large jump range to go between the two. I do that right now with my mining ship that I have near a low traffic pristine site, I use my Asp X to jump from my usual home base over to where I'm mining, then use the Asp to go home again to my main ship collection when I'm done.

Simple and it means that I don't have to worry about the restrictive jump ranges on the larger ships. Honestly I think this is what Frontier intended. You have a ship storage limit of 30, I have to wonder how many people playing even manage to have a collection of 3.

Works very well for me. I've used the feature a lot. However, i've not transported a Corvette 100s of LY while flying an Anaconda... that's just..... i can't say it.

Also worth noting the OP isn't just complaining about the time (although they admit if it wasn't for the transfer feature it would still take them 45 mins to travel in their Corvette (and i would guess that's an exaggeration), they are compalining about the cost.

Let that sink in for a minute. The guy has an Anaconda and a Corvette, and complaining about cost :D :D :D

Jumping / travel distance and time gives shape and meaning to the rest of the game. It makes the galaxy feel like a galaxy, and it makes space feel like space (incomprehensibly large). Sometimes a game requires "unfun" game mechanics to bring meaning to the "fun" game mechanics.

Sounds like Elite isn't the game for you. It's somewhat childish of you, however, to assume you can speak for everyone or assert that you alone are the arbiter of what is and is not "good gameplay."

See ya. You'd be much happier with something like No Mans Sky, fortunately there are other space games out there.

Why does everybody want a god mode? What sense does it make to have your ship automatically appear whenever you call it? Perhaps we could ask Frontier to simply make it so all your ships follow you around and fight for you whenever you enter a combat zone as well?

Personally I think the expense is perfect and the time is perfect. Figure out other things to do while you wait. Added, if you find the expense to be to much, you might be doing something wrong and you are probably poor. Maybe stop buying so many ships and so many mods? Just a thought.

What I do whenever I call a ship? I call it when I am about to log off. It will be there when I return. Some of us call such foresight... Strategy.

Better question: why do some people always feel compelled to worry about how others enjoy the game and try to dictate approved gameplay in the form of unsolicited advice?

The TIME is ballenced perfectly.

The COST needs a CAP.

It is fine with small ships but i just payed 20 mil to move a vette. The cutter would have been over 30. Small ships seem ok but it is crazy expensive to ship the big 3 any measurable distance. I dont mind paying.....i just think there should be a cap.

As for MODULES........they should be INSTANT (except weapons). I should NOT have to sit around for an hour waiting for a scanner/power plant etc. Screw your immersion. I have a life and this is a GAME. It would have ZERO effect on the ballance of the game but would be a HUGE quality of life improvement. The only exception would be weapons. They should poibably have a 15 minute penalty or something

Ooooh, the fanboy base. Folks, if you like to waste your time in a useless game loop, fine. This game sucks. Gameplay sucks. Jumping for ages and gigantic grind loops are not gameplay. It s simply a bad game.

And yet you play it anyway, but you're right something is wrong, namly you're drama filled posts. You said it it's a bad game, well who in there right mind plays a bad game. [wacky] Do yourself a favour and move on.

I think you're exagerating you like the game and thats why you're still playing.

Nail Hit Head on the!

Make 18 million as a player for the same time investment= " this is immersion breaking and needs to be nerfed"

Or rebalance risk/reward so that bigger rewards are harder but not necessarily longer, rather than just increasing payouts across the board. And give us some proper endgame missions/gameplay to that end.

Nobody needs an entry-level fetch quest that doles out upper-tier rewards. Unless it's a one-off story mission or something.

All? You're basically saying we are all like this? Except you? Hmmm....

And just maybe, some of those calling for one thing are not the same as calling for others.

Now, perhaps you could drop the insults and focus on the actual discussion?

Here is something I do...

My combat Conda cost a lot to transfer, so what I've done is to upgrade the FSD with Engineers. Then, if I need to transfer it a long way, I store all weapons and modules related to combat, except hull reinforcements (I just sell them). I then outfit it for fast travel, getting it to reach around 47LYs. I jump to the place, dock, transfer the modules, which is much, much cheaper, and while waiting I'll do some cargo/data delivery missions.

Yes, it requires planning, but that is part of the charm with the game. :)

Because it us generally understood that when people play the same game, they should play by the same rules. I know, I know, its weird. :)

The peak of expenditure in cr/hr should be well above the average profit in cr/hr. Thats not hypocritical, that's running some numbers before posting.
