Don't understand what you're saying. The ruin is a fixed point on a rotating sphere & therefore describes a circular path (assuming the planet axis is not wobbling); that circle lies on a plane. I thought this was the plane you mentioned- I'm assuming the other ruin sites will lie on that plane, within (say) 40light years from this site.

The circle lies on a plane(parallel to the equatorial), but the towers don't point parallel to it. They point ca. 32° more south. Perpendicular to the ground at the ruin site.

It seems Clanga was right. Looking in the "Tales from the Frontier" book, it led me to suspect the system Wendigo. I went to Hausdorff Beacon and found the following message.

I agree that 3 seems the right number here. However, the 6.9dy partition stuff assumes that the guardian used a one day "day" XD.

Even without the fact that "day" is based on an Earth measurement and therefore meaningless in this context, we have to be very careful about ascribing meaning to numbers just because they're divisible by three. An random number has a one in three chance of being divisible by three.

Well, it goes from 0 to F. 0-9 makes 10 and a-f makes 6 making HEXA DECIMAL.

Pretty sure it is hexadecimal code. I just don't know yet why they are grouped this way.

Surely the galactic plane that the ruins lie on is calculable from the lat/long, the orbital/spin parameters of the planet & the coordinates of the system?

You'd need to know the orientation of the plane of the system to the plane of the galaxy (inclination etc). I don't think that data is visible in ED is it?

The unit of measurements used by the guardians is the planet in merope. The same one the UP points to.

What evidence is there for this? So far there is no known connection between the Guardians/ruins and the UA/UP/Merope stuff.

But the object is "only" a listening post. I mean it's not the first one to be found. They have been introduced with the 2.2 patch but so far have only led to crashed ships and abandoned stations or stuff like that, as they often correspond to distress beacons. Doesn't rule out that it could mean something of course.

Possible. But the earthworks don't seem to match either, not just the obelisks.
