I've handed in data 2 or 3 times now, from mission board ( ie hand it in, then leave the station and re-dock to re-get the mission )

Thing is, on the mission board I just have the usual missions listing, there isn't a separate option to hand this in, I've been away and back and still nothing :(

If you hand in mission, get billion dolars, and then take this mission again, you start from the point you finished having billions dolars in your pocket?

Having surveyed the site (at a time I now realise was extremely fortunate) and analysed the various maps I now seriously believe I've decoded the site.

Language data collected from the obelisks highlight the complexity of the language and the ability for words, hence glyphs, to have multiple meanings. This led me to conclude that the site, which looks like a glyph, could be read at multiple levels. Basically all elements have multiple meanings and can be viewed at different scales.

At one scale the large circular mound represent the class y dwarf and ring system with the small circular mound representing P1b on which the ruins stand and the outer walls representing the orbit of P1b round the class Y dwarf. Thought not clear in all maps of the site, there is in fact another a smaller wall looping of the smaller circular mound with a protrusion on it representing P1b's moon and orbit. At a larger scale it can also represent the class Y dwarf orbiting the system's sun and PIb orbiting the class Y.

Next we need to re-orientate the map, the two triangles having 2 meanings (I'll come to the second later), the large one means "this way up" the small one this down "down".

Now the site becomes a more local representation of what can be seen in the sky. There have been many posts relating to various alignments, that I won't go into here to try and keep things as short as possible, including those made by myself in my previous post. At this scale I believe the surrounding wall has 2 meanings, a representation of the horizon (Page 993 - sorry can't work out how to include it here, li I'm new to this posting lark, link below.) and a representation of night and day. Though I've not yet been able to test my theory and my maths is a bit rusty, I propose that the markers or gaps between them provide an indication of the ratio between night and day. If it's the markers it's 10:15 or gaps 11:16. This leads to the second meaning of the 2 triangles - large day and small night.

Referring back to my earlier post and my proposal that the inner circle of the large circular mound represent the class Y dwarf and the outer circle Barnard's Loop and that the unique occasion of the class Y and Barnard's loop setting as the sun rose. I now believe the 2 matching arrow type platforms (the larger with the 2 obelisk structures on) indicate that these would be setting as apposed to sun (the smaller circular mound without such structure) rising.


I'm now convinced that the time of this special occurrence has passed and hence the devs have added the extra rectangular group of obelisks on the large pointer platform to indicate the position of the three stars I saw at sunrise, the originals still pointing at them when Barnard's loop sets.

I'm still working on a detailed understanding of some of the other placements but the new group of double obelisks added did seem to line up with the class Y rising today, as someone posted, and I suspect that the sun will set over the pyramid outside the large circle when viewed from the top of the pyramid within the site. I should be able to test that tomorrow if I can get online.

I checked on a few third parties and since the results were... inconsistent (as in you could get those from different combinations) I left them as unknown values.

However I do much appreciate your help :D

Has anyone tried using the unidentified artifact with any of the relics at the ruins? Playing a game of hot potato with the ua in a group could manage the corrosion damage while scanning.

Having got fed up, late on last night, with trying to solve the mystery of the obelisks/monoliths I decided to have a bit of a survey of the site as a whole. And here are my findings and resultant musings.

Viewing down the lines of obelisks along the two red lines I saw the same patch of sky (at the time of viewing I could see a line of 3 stars, something similar to Orion's belt, above the horizon).

Viewing down the orange line I saw the same patch of sky as viewing down the brown line from the large circle, i.e. they are parallel, (at the time of viewing I saw a small triangle of stars at about the same height as the previous 3).

Viewing down the purple line I saw, what I think is the Small Magellanic Cloud at roughly the same height above the horizon as the other observations.

Viewing down the green line, I saw nothing special, until I raised my perspective slightly and I saw Barnard"s Loop bisected by the horizon.

Viewing from the pyramid directly north, Barnard's Loop was also seen setting over the large circle.

Viewing down the blue line I saw the galactic plane intercepting the horizon.

Viewing up the brown line I noticed that I had just missed the setting of the Y class dwarf that this moon orbits, directly in line. Only a faint purple hue and the rings were visible.

Viewing along the top yellow line from the pyramid over the adjacent relic tower points to EXACTLY the same point in the sky as viewing along the bottom yellow line from the center of the small circle over the nearby relic tower, I even used the gap between the two obelisks as a site line.

Observations taken approx. 23:30 - 24:00 GMT.

Unfortunately I omitted to take any screenshots as I didn't realise the significance at the time, it being what I thought was just a random time to make the observations. I was just looking for geometric similarities.

This morning (approx. 09:45GMT), much to my regret, I noticed the sun was up and I had missed a sunrise. However I decided to observe the sun from the Pyramid within the compound (see screenshot).

What struck me was that as it rose it must have appeared to roll up the slope. I therefore added the pink line to denote the view of sunrise from the pyramid, this seems to correlate with other images of sunrise posted in this thread today.

Now for the musings, in most part, based on a pictorial view of the site.

Could the large multi ringed circular mound represent 2 astronomical bodies at the same time?
1. The ringed Y class dwarf in the center with the ridge coming from it, from which we observe its setting.
2. Barnards"s Loop round the outside, with the large gap to the S.W. As I recall it did somewhat match in orientation.

Could the smaller circular mound represent the systems primary star?

Could the boundary wall represent the horizon?

If yes to all the above, I believe it tells us the exact time when to make our observations - When the "Sun" rises and the Y class dwarf and Barnard's loop set all at the same time. This nearly occurred today with the sun rising only a short time after both of the others set.

I believe those observations should be taken from the pyramid viewing across the relic tower adjacent to the pyramid and the relic tower ENE of the pyramid outside the walls.

The big question is have we missed the event or is it yet to come?
