That ''small'' aspect of the game has quite the number of people interested in it, and has an enormous impact on the game. So there's no point in trying to hide it under the rug.

I know some people suffer selective vision here, but as an impartial observer who has no issues with PvE or PvP - I'd say there is as much toxicity and vitriol from both sides, in fact it's often worse from certain PvE zealots.
Anyway, the Gods... I mean mods have spoken, so no use beating this dead horse any further.
As a regular PvE player, I'm genuinely surprised that so many object to a dedicated PvP-forum, as this would clean up all the mud slinging in Dangerous Discussion.

That's actually something on my consideration list right now within the Exploration, Guides, Suggestions and Player Tools forum section. Been quite a bit of activity for it lately. Granted, that forum category name will probably need to change a little bit. [woah]

There is a fair bit of PVP chatter on these forums, but by my observation it is mostly decentralized in its location and unfocused in its nature. In a nutshell, I don't see it as very productive, which is a shame. I see it happening in Dangerous Discussion (where it gets lost in a sea of noise), Ships of Elite (where it gets drowned out by the 100th thread of someone asking how to fit out X ship for Y, or rate my loadout. but that's the point of that subforum isn't it?) or it happens in some random guide or bgs (piracy guide thread, or Frogs vs Chickens BGS appeal)
It would be nice to have these things in a centralized location, and hopefully as the mods retool the forums and consolidate and prune things they will have an area carved out for the "sociopaths" or those that want to understand them or their tactics.
Like I said in that other encyclopedia of a thread, I don't PVP primarily, but if someone wants to have a go I'll consider it. If I'm constantly getting kicked in the teeth in PVP encounters, PVPers are the first people I want to talk to about why. Unfortunately, they're hard to find on here sometimes.

If this means the main discussion forum will be less PvP heavy, that would be great.
Ah yes, let's keep segregating the community into smaller and smaller groups, so that they can become more isolated echo chambers deaf to the rest of the game's community around them.

You mean like the OPEN/SOLO/PG threads managed to bring people together and to stop beating dead-horses like BGS separation between modes?
I'm sorry but that's not going to happen. If anything the rift is becoming bigger the more the two population are exposed to each other.

No. There are already too many stereotypes going back and forth. Reducing communication will amplify these.
In a combined forum, at least you get an occasional actual conversation going between like minded players who happen to like different playing styles. Like minded doesn't dictate the playing style.

Depends on what it's to be used for.
If it's for arranging PVP matches and discussing PVP tactics then yes, it should have it's own subforum for those discussions.
If it's just to sweep PVP discussion under the rug, just for those weirdos round here that can't stand seeing people discussing PVP (I assume it's the same people that regularly request there to a "whining" subforum for all the criticism to be buried in because for some strange reason they can't abide those types of threads even though they'll happily comment in them 20 or 30 times a day) then no, there shouldn't be a PVP sub forum.
If you don't like that a particular thread is on page 1 then here's a novel idea, DON'T COMMENT IN THEM, through eldritch magicks threads that aren't commented on naturally descend to unread depths of pages 2 and onwards. Never to be seen again (unless some fell sourcery necros them).
