I dropped a lot, but unwilling to drop my very rares at the moment, I'm also not giving RAM everything, Epsilon for example is grade 5, until I know FD won't be using these for some upgrade, I'll hold onto them.

Why to keep them?
You can easilly get 50-100 pieces for half an hour on G group in solo play

Hi, just gone from the ruins to the outer arm of the galaxy and noticed

that some blue white stars aligned in parallax with the horsehoe galaxy ( beneath our own ) replicate the ancient ruins ie it is a map

visit the said blue white stars, that are in the active obelisk positions to visit the other ruin sites ?

I'm sitting looking at a blue white star triangle which 'overlays' an arm of the horsehoe galaxy, in a similar position to the ruins obelisk triangle

This now RNG dice is awesome. :D

Drinking Game:
Scan for 2-4 minutes at the Ruin site, ... roll dice
- Adjudication server error, have a sip.
- If you reconnect to group and crash to desktop immediately, have a sip.
- Crash to desktop while scanning. Jackpot! Empty the bottle.

Game on!

GALNET News:
"Recently space travellers from all corners of galaxy have come to visit the Ancient Ruins.

Ram Tah has received much harsh criticism for what many think is a ill-considered request for help in gathering data for analysing the ruins.

The Canonn Interstellar Research Group have been observing, with great concern, as we've seen a huge increase in the number of drug related accidents near these fragile and precious relics.
Cmdr Delmonte, spokesperson for Canonn, issued this statement earlier today:
"We feel we must protect this area against irresponsible, drugged and ruthless pilots who have create havoc for nothing but their own personal gain.
Therefore, all pilots entering a zone of Ancient Ruins pulled over to the side for blood alcohol testing."

We've received no statements from the Federation regarding the issue.

Maybe I shouldn't have travelled there in my Onionhead painted Cobra. Obviously giving the wrong impression :D

I've spent some time stalking the Synuefe planetoids and was able to determine some general directions in relation to the galactic plane. Ancient Ruins not visible due to being on the back side of the southern hemisphere (behind the south pole).

Hopefully someone finds this useful while studying planetary and ruins alignments.

Galactic News: Clandestine Federal-Imperial Negotiations?

Animosity between the Empire and the Federation has been growing for months, but leaked communications suggest that clandestine negotiations may be taking place between the two superpowers.

Jason Nygaard, a reporter for The Federal Times, said:

"We believe the Federation is meeting with Imperial dignities behind closed doors. The nature of these meetings isn't clear, but we have noted unusual ship movements around the historic Cambridge space port."

Cambridge, once of the few ancient Earth cities preserved in its historic form, is notably free from surveillance. It has been associated with many remarkable events in its long history.

Feds and Imps joining forces before the storm? ;)

I am more concerned with the other post. 19th January (condensed Sirius CG article): "In support of this programme, the Sirius Corporation has placed an open order for unknown fragments, untypical shield scans and aberrant shield pattern analysis, and promised to reward pilots who deliver these materials to Cormack Hub in the Procyon system."

20th January Sirius CG ends "
A spokesperson for the Sirius Corporation has announced that its appeal for microresources has been enthusiastically received by the galactic community. Hundreds of pilots responded to the corporation's appeal by delivering Unknown Energy Source, Shield Density Reports and Shield Pattern Analysis to Cormack Hub in the Procyon system."

So what are these "Unknown Energy Sources"? Someone has decided Unknown Artefact fragments are Energy Sources??? Is this the way FD are going to tell us about new research breakthroughs?
I know I'm about 30 pages behind at the moment, but what is going on?

I seem to remember someone posting that a star/moon/nebula lined up with the ruins in some way - does anyone remember?

If someone did, I'd love to see it. I was examining if for example, there'd be any significance with the shape of the ruins compared to some nearby star systems (think Voyager Golden Record).

I did just a quick gander at the closest neutron stars to the system containing the ruins. There are 6 within 300 ly. Omega Carinae, 40 Upsilon-2 Hydrae, Beta Muscae, Beta Hydrae, i Eridani and HR 4832. Took some pics of the galactic map and drew some quick lines to them from it, though again, it's just another stab in the dark that might amount to nothing

AFAIK the Galactic Map doesn't really provide proper tools for this, so as just a quick measure I took 6 pictures from around it and drew lines (approximately S, W, E, N, Up and Down). Not all were properly visible from all angles. And of course I didn't properly label which picture I took from which angle cause I'm a pillock.

If you are talking about "Imps", it was intentional :D

FD ACKNOWLEDGED WE ARE NOT THAT SMART TO FIND OTHER RUIN SITES :D

Let's do the CG then!

AND WE'LL HAVE ANOTHER SITE HANDED ON A TECHNETIUM PLATE...

Where/when did this new ruins CG come from? It isn't showing in my Galnet. I noted it started yesterday 20th January, so I've looked back to 17th but it just is not showing....??????

Sign up in Meene, Felice Dock, think it appeared because the Sirius one completed in about five hours, and they maybe felt we needed a nudge in the right direction anyway :)

If you're not aware, CG shows up in Galaxy map, or while docked at any station - you can check the ongoing list in the mission board.

OK I'm not as young as once was and don't game as much as I used too. I generally don't get involved with forum posting (I'm starting to think it was maybe a bad idea start) but I was captivated by the ruins thing when I heard of it the other day and thought I'd give it a go and contribute. It was a pure fluke of timing that allowed me to witness the alignment this Monday gone, and hence decode the ruins.

Now I know that other bodies in Synuefe XR-H D11-102 also have dish like craters, as I have discovered here, I realise I may not have the correct body but I'm sure I have the correct system, the whole place sings like the ruins and I'm over 200lys away. If I find something new I'll let you know, until then I'll sign off.

Don't be discouraged. The beauty of this thread is that anyone can contribute, whatever their level of experience/knowledge/gaming time etc, you just need to follow the scientific method. I read your theory, but it didn't capture my interest and left you to make the predictions from it and find the evidence to support your theory; as I think others did also. Now you seem to be saying your predictions were successful & you've found something. That is excellent news, but the scientific method requires a theory, reasoned predictions from it and then supporting data, the proof; several people asked you to post visual evidence but as far as I can see all we got was a picture of a crater on some planet with no settlement, ruins or anything else visible, & no cockpit screenshot to show the system/planet names and no coordinates. That is what caused the furore.

I apologise if this has already happened (I'm about 25 pages behind on this thread) but please explain more clearly your theory, details of the event (astronomical alignment of bodies?) that triggered you on this path and give us the visual evidence. Also video of this singing that you mention. The game produces all sorts of music and sounds, some seem to be significant & others less so. I am intrigued by singing since this has been mentioned many times in relation to alien encounters (e.g. Jaques' & Halsey's jump mishaps, also some beacon logs) but nothing has yet been recorded to provide evidence. I have not been to the ruins myself so am not aware of any singing encountered there.

If you have failed to support your theory then that is also fine, this is the way that science works, even knowledge of failed theories can help but without providing any clear reasoning or evidence then you are not helping us to move forward.
