I seem to remember someone posting that a star/moon/nebula lined up with the ruins in some way - does anyone remember?

I posted that I remembered someone else's post of a picture with Andromeda Galaxy+Pleiades and California nebulae in an isosceles triangle configuration above the ruins. This struck me as interesting given the history of UA/UP wrt Pleaiads (Merope), Alliance base rcently(ish) in California neb...

Hi, just gone from the ruins to the outer arm of the galaxy and noticed

that some blue white stars aligned in parallax with the horsehoe galaxy ( beneath our own ) replicate the ancient ruins ie it is a map

visit the said blue white stars, that are in the active obelisk positions to visit the other ruin sites ?

I'm sitting looking at a blue white star triangle which 'overlays' an arm of the horsehoe galaxy, in a similar position to the ruins obelisk triangle

Can you post a picture/screenshot please to illustrate your thinking?

GALNET News:
"Recently space travellers from all corners of galaxy have come to visit the Ancient Ruins.

Ram Tah has received much harsh criticism for what many think is a ill-considered request for help in gathering data for analysing the ruins.

The Canonn Interstellar Research Group have been observing, with great concern, as we've seen a huge increase in the number of drug related accidents near these fragile and precious relics.
Cmdr Delmonte, spokesperson for Canonn, issued this statement earlier today:
"We feel we must protect this area against irresponsible, drugged and ruthless pilots who have create havoc for nothing but their own personal gain.
Therefore, all pilots entering a zone of Ancient Ruins pulled over to the side for blood alcohol testing."

We've received no statements from the Federation regarding the issue.
"

Was about to ask when that appeared cos I don't have it, then I read beyond the first line. Lol, repped!
You could have included "several pilots have also been ticketed for trolling" :D

Edit: can't rep you again so virtual +1!

There is actually a mistake on the Remlok Industries site saying there is a glyph of the moon rising and falling. The text in-game says waxing and waning - I think that's what that is. It says as it appeared on the GUARDIAN world, though. Maybe that's a hint?

I did post this one of Planet 1, Sag A and Coalsack nebula a while back, planet 4 is then positioned to the left of Sag A.

For both of the above 4B seems to become more and more of a candidate.

If I accidently hand in the ancient ruins mission (went to Ram Tah's station to do the CG and accidently clicked on the mission instead of the CG), is there any way to get it back and do it again? I only had 1 complete (1mil).

Apparently if you leave the station and then re-dock it works. I have not tried this personally but read it on this thread somewhere.

I've done this and it works a treat. Leave and dock back in there and the mission pops up in your messages panel.

Sign up in Meene, Felice Dock, think it appeared because the Sirius one completed in about five hours, and they maybe felt we needed a nudge in the right direction anyway :)

If you're not aware, CG shows up in Galaxy map, or while docked at any station - you can check the ongoing list in the mission board.

Hi thanks. Yes I know this. But I expect CGs to be notified in Galnet posts before starting. Looks like it might appear on Monday (since the Galnet newshounds don't appear to work at weekends); it seems the only notification has been in the newsletter!

In notifications here in this thread as well, it's hard to miss sometimes. :)

When the tedium of scanning the same obelisks over and over becomes too much.

Jumping your srv over your ship is a good way to relax.

I am a bit puzzled about this. Fairly new to the game itself so I really don't have another event to compare with.
I've managed to get the 13 decoded entries in solo, and as Michael Brookes said solo is working as intended and that open/PG is showing more active obelisk than it should.
Is this a confirmation you're only supposed to get 13 correct scans at this location? And that the bonus scan's you get in open/PG should really be someplace else?

Why I am asking is because I really can't do test's in solo to activate more obelisks as I always get disconnected having everything reset.
Seems to be disconnecting when I scan the active obelisks, roughly 6 scans and imminent disconnect.

Sorry if already asked and answered somewhere.

I think MB said Solo is working correctly and Open/PG not, but after the basic 13 in Solo we'd be able to get the others "elsewhere". People have assumed this to mean other ruin sites on the same planet, or sites on other planets but this would imply many more than 3 planets (since we seem to have collected a third of all possible messages at this site, albeit with a "not working properly" open/pg mechanism).
I have posted that since open/pg is producing messages beyond the basic 13 then the mechanism must exist in Solo but we haven't yet figured out what is the switch(es) to bring in the extra message set(s). It may be some step has not been done in solo that is being fortuitously done in open/pg.

I like your thinking but since I don't think the other sites are on this same planet (because there would be no point in sending three arc ships to this same planet) presumably also these patterns include the system/planet name!
I half-remember some phrase of Ram Tah's that the glyphs resemble braille. I have looked briefly at the braille alphabet (https://www.rnib.org.uk/sites/default/files/ks1_braille_alphabet.pdf), but other than noting it is based on a 2x3 grid of dots(i.e. 6, which is certainly suggestive in this context) didn't make any progress
