Hyponia Horizon Mission

A good idea for a mission Commander!

You're not the only ones going out that way. The Mercury 7 Expedition will be heading out there, on our Way to Wagars' Reach.

I wish you the best of luck

Hm, interesting. Did these show up as blue circles on the ship radar while flying above the surface, or did you find them with the SRV's wave scanner? I'm in another region of possible interest that's also quite far from the bubble, so I'll go down to planets and see if I find anything there.
I'm always looking for any POI on SRV.

Thank you, Yanick! Fly safe o7

Yes, we need to verify if Frontier has changed it back again that nav beacons and shipwrecks can spawn anywhere in the galaxy, like it used to be. Because either:

- they can, or
- something very interesting is out near Hyponia that changes POI spawn rules

If something is happening at hyponia which is a far side permit locked region, im headed for the otherside to dryman which is permit locked as well, ill do some scouting while im out there and see if i can note the same POI changes, ill report back with screenshots etc if i find anything of interest

Being roughly the same distance from Sol and Jaques, I decided to stop travelling, go down and look for some materials planetside while keeping an eye out for PoI-s. After an hour total spent on two different planets, I've yet to see so much as a single canister. So, either I was very unlucky, or there is something different about the vicinity of the permit locked regions. Definitely worth looking at this.

Found another one Federation reconnaissance sensor. Hm, it looks like Federation is very interested in this region.

It is different. Sometimes you find it immediately, sometimes it's take more than hour ride.

Still, nav beacons shouldn't be out there!!! At all!!! It just isn't possible to find them that far out, or it's not supposed to be. I think this is kind of a big deal, and possibly a very large discovery. It's either a bug, or there is some civilization out there somewhere generating human POI's in it's vicinity.

I'd like to mention that I found these yesterday.
You will see the exact locations through the cockpit.

The crash site which unfortunately didn't capture in photo!!!![wacky]
is near this huge mountain.

both of them showed up as POI 's.

I hope I helped a little bit.

See you in the black CMDRs.

Just to mention that it's approximately 22.000 LY from Sol.
If it's not a bug then it's really interesting!

:D:eek:

Eh, that's nowhere near Hyponia nor Colonia, nor the bubble. It's over on the other side of Sag A.

It looks to me like Frontier bugged POI's again to allow nav beacons and shipwrecks all over the galaxy, like it used to be. My excitement just died, so it's nothing unusual out there near Hyponia, just Frontier messing up again. [sad]

We still stay here, and we will explore this region. :)

I have a hypothesis about that. Either:

-Those POIs spawn everywhere
-or only near "bubbles" (the local one we all know and every other that might already be there but locked for us). I am thinking of the recent stream in which was said, that more (unknown) bubbles are out there.

The second assumption means that permit locked areas may also considered as a bubble. We dont know whats going on there, but i think it could be possible that FD implemented at least placeholder things in the permit locked regions which may act similar to the known bubble (BGS etc) so the regions evolve before we can enter them.

I will check this in the next days near another permit locked region. Of course i will check also some planets more than 10kly away from any known permit locked systems or the bubble. So we can at least say those POIs are either everywhere, only near locked regions or only at least one permit locked region.

Is it close to one of the other permit locked systems like dryman, that could be an alternative suggestion before you go getting all disappointed - as frontier have said over and over again theres stuff out there to be found and once found it can kick off many hidden storylines they have saved up ready to go. As reported yesterday im making my way out towards dryman

There may be a hidden federation deep space scout / exploration base to be found out there somewhere that could explain it, they may have manufacturing facilities to send out probes and the like ( similiar to the recent CG to build deeep space probes) Send em out with a covert federation fleet of sorts and have them drop off these exploration beacons in different sectors with a degree of Ai inbuild just enough to report data back

What i would suggest is filing bug reports on these finds and see if Fdev give anything away out about it being bugged or not, if its not bugged and they are meant to be there we can continue questioning

Im not so quick to dismiss it out of hand

Good idea after filing a bug report - if Fdev report back working as intended then u have solid ground to move forward

Federation or imperial covert research programs, we know something was launched to the formidine rift as an example, could be signs of alien civilisations (thargoid or not thargoid) remanents of other guardian like empires.
