Try convincing an Aussie or Kiwi of that, everything is relative!

Absolutely :D

However, history has lead us to a point where the standards of measurment for pretty much everything where set by one group, eventually adopted for more or less global use.

Not unreasonable to apply something similar in this situation - sure, they're aliens, but fictional ones, made up by humans, for the entertainment of other humans :)

Somebody should coordinate the search, so that we don't cover the same area multiple times. Don't we have a Canonn organization for that? Get on it! [big grin]

The fact that Ram Tah "has discovered new sites" rather than "worked out some clues regarding the ruins site" suggests this is how it was planned all along. Otherwise I would have thought FDEV would have nudged our investigation in the right direction and let us carry on puzzling with a little more education.

" I have not been able to divine their precise locations. All I have been able to do is narrow the field to a handful of systems"

suggests to me that not all of these systems may have sites.

Unless you're in the USA.

A research strike. We want scanners now!

What do we want: SCANNERS!

When do we want 'em: NOW!!!

I started a thread (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/324053-Exploration-Planetary-surface-search-improvement-requirement-amp-suggestions?p=5047907#post5047907)the other day in the suggestions forum to gather the evidence to highlight to FD this exact need.
Why not post your comment in there, & maybe everyone should start pm'ing DB, MB & Sandro to get something done to help us out...

Nah. I think it just means that he couldn't narrow it down to planet coordinate level of accuracy...at least I hope so anyway...

I'd like to know if the player base even had a chance of figuring out where the other Alien Ruins may be? And as Ram Tah had all the same information as the players then how come he was able to create a shortlist of possible locations but the players probably had no chance at all?

Thanks for responding, probably redundant now we have 4 other systems to search.

No I don't think it's redundant. i've thought all along that this should be soluble in Solo mode at the current ruins. If the method can be found then it can be used also at these new sites (when located)

why would the beta site if it is beta what has been found first be the closest to the bubble? makes no sence does it?

ram tah must be on drugs :p

Well, if we find another site someone may be able to work back and see if there were indeed any clues in the original. As for ram tah, he has a 33rd century computer to analyse data we sent :p

The trouble with research scientists is that as a species we are so disorganised we can't even decide who should bring the biscuits to the monthly meetings. We often sit around biscuitless, sulking.
Organise it yourself! :D
