Random fact (x/y cords) the last 5 digits match for our current system and one of the others.

Synuefe XR-H d11-102
357.34375 / -49.34375

Synuefe ZL-J d10-119
834.21875 / -51.21875

I know, I know. Tenuous isn't the word.

Well this is going to be a pain in the , none of the planets in IC 2391 Sector GW-V b2-4 even come close to having the same stats as the original ruins planet. Given that the sites wont load into view sub 10km and are impossible to find at night, without a pattern to follow this is going to be frustratingly painful.
A 1 at least has a very similar temperature (315K compared to 300K) and a comparable gravity (0.38, enough to trigger the low gravity warning). Barnacles have proven that exact matches in all aspects aren't completely necessary.

I'd like to know if the player base even had a chance of figuring out where the other Alien Ruins may be? And as Rm Tah had all the same information as the players then how come he was able to create a shortlist of possible locations but the players probably had no chance at all?

We had six months.

I suggest again that overlaying the relative locations of the original ruins system, and the four new ones, over the first set of ruins may yet yield clues as to where to look in each of those new system.

I'm at work for 5 more hours, or I'd do it myself right now.

I've visited that location on each planet in GW-V b2-4 with no success. Its late here so I'm going to bed, I hope by shear weight of numbers and some luck we can find more sites, that really is all we have going for us.

I also think it's important to look for planets with odd orbits or axial tilt. Anything that may indicate manipulation, like the 96° axial tilt of Synuefe xr-h d11-102, 1B.

I don't mean go to the same surface location on each planet (although that is a good idea, if only to rule it out).

I mean plot the relative positions of the 5 known ruins systems over the layout of the first set of ruins, to see if they correlate with any of the structures in a way that might give a clue.

We had six months.

6 months where the only possible information we had to work with was 'is at least one more site on a planet somewhere in the galaxy'. Am I bitter, lil bit. Frustrating because I want to be able to make actual progress on this mystery but rather annoyed that there is no real info for us to work with unless its gifted to us in a CG.

I've taken one or more old and worn British One Pence pieces, I've splashed some green paint on them and placed in on one or more football(soccer) pitches somewhere in London area of the UK.
In keeping with Frontiers vision of the year 3303, you are not allowed to use metal detectors!
Good Luck with your search.

Adding further to these with:

Turn off in game music whilst searching planets.

I know some dont believe it is a thing, but the "singing"/"ruins music" is only audible from close to the ruins location, so that might help.

And don't forget to have the mission in your log and the first site as scanned as you can get (to solo standards, at least).

Ive heard the music before I saw the ruins before, and I have all music except for system map off. So thats a thing.

Servers going down - someone has flown over the ruins location, and FD realised they forgot to switch them on :)

Heh.

Or perhaps they're adding some capacity to certain areas, to try and cope with a sudden influx of CMDRs in a small area, because a lot of people experienced connection drop-outs during the CG at the original ruins...

I know, I know, but I reserve the right to be optimistic :)
