With the hours spent on the bugged first site, and now this search of the planets (hey I could have flown past them by a couple of km and never know it) I bid this mission goodnight and goodbye. Great idea FDev, really really terrible implementation though. Take it as constructive criticism for the next one

Good luck CMDRs!
It's not so much that the implementation is terrible, it's that we have no tools to help us do the searching other than our eyeballs. There needs to be ways to gradually narrow down the search zones level by level to something manageable, preferably via in game mechanics like improved scanners and wave scanners and even the SRV, other than simply brute force eyeball searching random planet surfaces.
I'll be honest, I spent so many dozens of hours planet surface searching for other ruins with my eyes while trying to prove my stellar map theory, then followed by Formidine Rift surface searching, that I'm pretty much burned out on eyeball surface searching. I don't think I can help you all with this one. Even though we are given four systems to look at, it's just too many planets, too many possibilities, too many frackin hours of flying around in ugly low graphics settings, I'd rather do pretty much anything else in game right now than more brute force planet surface searching.
Good luck to you all, I hope the ruins are found soon!
