The number 101 features prominently in one system: IC 2391 Sector ZE-A d101

Then we have to ask ourselves again if we should apply logic from the point of view of The Guardians or from a Frontier employee? Because the system name is what humans named this system. The Guardians will have a different name for this system if they even
use names&numbers for systems. It makes no sense why the Guardians would have as much data scans available across all ancient sites to match ONE number WE as humans use in one system. But viewed from the eyes of an FD employee, he might not have thought about this
and thought that it's a nice puzzle to let us figure out this connection, although lore wise and logic wise it doesn't make any sense at all.

4 billion Km2 of surface area from what I hear.
It does seem to come down to trying to solve a really difficult puzzle, which after a while drives one to come up with crazy theories and see things that probably aren't there. Or yes, spend the better part of a life time brute force searching.

Im pretty sure that the systems names were proceduraly generated, or at least partially. 400 Billion star systems would take multiple lifetimes to count and name. Easier is calling a group by this name then adding a number on the end as you count them

Some of the people in here ... well, let's just say they're tired and have been staring at miles of barren landscape for just a bit too long. :p

That's not the reason at all. This new crowd are just antagonistic and seem to be treating this place as though it's a live chat site or something. Plus most of them know nothing about long searches :)

Could the two main circles represent the planet the ruins are on and the moon near it? If so, that could be another thing pointing to d101 C 3 A since it's is a similar position.

The fact that this was an article on gal net and not a critical mission update tells me that FD are guinea pigging us for reasearch on how to direct and misdirect the community on a whole. What features work and what don't.

Hey Folks, some good ol grapic glitch at *ZE-A D101 C 3A:

After few hours I gave up on any search that is similar to this:

:D

Seriously, we need some real clues and tools within the game... ;)

I spent all day yesterday flying around on IC 2391 Sector ze-a d101 B 5.
2 POI (1 of which I didn't manage to find) the whole day.

This morning I continued my trip. The planet looks to be tidally locked and the part that was dark yesterday was still dark this morning, so i stopped as it was too dark to see anything. I have also discovered just how little of the planet I have covered. I'm going to look somewhere else, where there is at least some scenery!

That sounds normal to me. Was like this from the beginning at least for me.

You can stop with your idea at #2 of your points because there are 15 active obelisks at the alpha sites, 13 gives a scan and 2 don't give a scan.

Look carefully at the planets around red dwarf

Yes I didn't say we manually named them each. But we gave each system a unique name. Sure we used random naming for this and let a computer generate names. But WE gave it that name with that number, not the guardians. The guardians would have no idea what number we would give it, they probably wouldn't even understand our signs and lettering. Plus there are probably a million other systems which contain the number 101.

edit 3: never mind, when shot off they turn into other materials, so far found 3 different things on the tree's
cordycep growth - which turns to nickel, chromium, manganese, iron when shot off
mussidaen seed pod - which turns to molybdenum
phloem excretion - which turns to ruthenium
Does this planet have these materials appear on scans? If so, it could be another clue. Possibly there's a site with alike trees on another planet.

Going to repost this link for the new shift :) as it will have gotten lost in the massive amounts of data posted.

So I used the only ingame tool i could think of to try and narrow down a body to search.
Universal Cartothingymabobs

So I scanned all landables and then went though the data before I claimed the credits.

System C22-17 body ab3 came back as 40k ish because of terraformable I presume. (no other bopdy was terrformable that I could see)

Useless info maybe but the only use of ingame tools i could think of to help narrow the search.

Ah, then i misunderstood your line of thought, my apologies.

Probably right, but that was reason enough for me to have a look around yesterday (plus it has a moon).
