One of the icons along the top of the posting window (a few to the right of the link/url icon, iirc) is a lil green/yellow square with what looks like a black tree in it - insert image, with options for from file/from url. I put mine on imgur and throw the url in there :)

you can also use a Google Search result.
Just click "View Image" instead of "Visit Page" and you can use the weblink it gives you to add Image as an Url.
Cuts out all the Redirects you get from spam/adverts embedded in the page

The fact that the image was missing made me so angry!

(Not really :) ). Also if you 'Go Advanced' you can see a preview of your post, handy when doing stuff like images as I always get them wrong first & second time(s) otherwise.

You remind me - time for a quick cuppa while I scan this system. Is it near sunrise at the new ruins yet?

cmdr edard was the one posting tea ;)

Coffee time for me, just locating the new site now, dunno yet! Been poking around site 1 for a few more bits of info re moon alignments before I joined the gold-rush.

It's tidally locked apparently, so it will never be sunrise. :D

So since this site is identical from the first one and they are at different coordinates, does that mean all of the science done, (with the lines and theory crafting the meaning of the shapes/symbols/number of objects etc.) has been pointless?

I kind of wonder if the devs read this thread and actually take pleasure in wasting a lot of people’s time? From what I have seen so far they sure don’t waste any of their own time developing quality content…

Sorry this has really all put me off the game. Time for a break I think. :(

Only thing i can think is we need to find a site different from these last two before anything can progress. Yay more mindless flying around in a sea of beige.

Well it's either that, or all the information needed to find all the sites is encoded in each identical ruin site. Not getting new data scans and new lore entries does seem like a bug though, especially since they admitted one exists at the alpha site between solo and open.

You might be disappointed - we now have two very similar sites, no reason to expect much difference in the remaining sites either - that's just part of the puzzle .

I'm pretty sure someone at FD messed up and placed the wrong ruins template in that planet.

Doesn't make sense otherwise.

so we are still at the point of figuring out how to interpret the data at the ruins, but now we've also added in the question of how does the new site correlate to the old site. Oh joy

If you all need me i'll be mindlessly flying around a beige planet in the hopes i stumble across a pixel o7

So, in all this has someone bugreported this? Doesn't look like it, but I'm just doing a couple more things at the new site before I put one in.... so far everything appears completely identical. Copy/Pasta fail or some reference somewhere is pointing to the wrong object.

I was about to post a bug report, if you want to do it, ^^

I don't think that's what tidally locked means. The moon is tidally locked to Earth, but it rotates around us (we just only see one side). I stand ready to be corrected though!

The same side is always facing it's sun. So no, it will never see a sunrise.

Unless you see other stars in the system.
