Everyone seemed to gloss over this so I'll answer it with a "test it and find out!"![]()
Maybe I will, though it's a pretty long trip. I estimate 9 hours each way... we'll see if I can get that mission again.

Formidine Rift Beta Mission 6/6
"We can't fix it. Hyperdrive is dead. Lucky we're in a system with a habitable world. We've sent a distress call but who knows if anyone will here it. We're going to abandon ship. If anyone finds this, we're in..." AUTOMATED TELEMETRY REPORT: POWER FAILURE.
Formidine Rift Delta Mission 6/6
"I've had time to accept it now. I went out as normal with one of the beacons, set it up. Had that weird power loss again. I waited and it all came back online like before. Signalled my support ship - no response. Flew back and it was gone, just debris. No survivors. Don't know what happened. It's just me and this crappy Sidewinder a zillion miles from home. Should have known it wasn't going to work out. If it's too good to be true.... There's an Earth-like world here, going to try and reach it ... you never know.
Wouldn't it be weird if they all met up on the same planet?

Man! I missed that too. I must have taken that night off
I really, really need a REAL murder board. There is so much going on in Galnet that is linked together.
...and the latest now. Has anyone been out to COL 70 sector yet?
I believe the strange star formation in this screenshot has already been dismissed as a graphics glitch, but thought I would throw it out there in light of this post.

.... Maybe a nebula disappears from a certain viewpoint...
Maybe we are all looking in the wrong areas.
The logs say that they were having a hard time to plot because stars were few and far inbetween. They also say they can't see much past the stars nearest to them so it tells me we have to look near the very edge of the arm to find clues.
Like, where stars are 25-30ly apart.

Just so you know, the CoR Tourist Beacon doesn't tell you anything particularly interesting and it doesn't seem to 'advance' you in the Formidine Rift quest.
There's a screenshot of the Beacon in v3 of the Rift Thread, somewhere.
Also - 9 hours being a long trip? You poor, naive fool![]()
If the beacon gives nothing It's a shame. I was hoping there were clues in rare missions... especially since in principle the server can spawn the mission to different players until it gets picked up, unlike local news which go away unseen.
On djtruthsayer's twitch interview with Drew https://www.twitch.tv/videos/117556163
Drew confirmed the Formidine Rift is exactly where we think it is, so the red blob edd map is correct, just beyond the Posidial Wall in the gap between it and the New Outer Arm.
MASSIVE TINFOILEY QUESTION COMING UP:
What if we jump to a certain system and end up in a different space? I get half a second lag when in the first Five seconds of Witchspace in the Rift... but never when i go out of the Rift. You think something is trying to trigger while in the jump?
