The CODE messing with Yum Kamcabi system and the CG

So, we have a problem at this point in time. We have the code ruining the CG by unfairly interdicting people, and either ending them or forcing them to drop their stuff with the threats of killing them. I myself am sick of this and would like to get a group of strong players to run them out. Who would like to join me?

While i hate ganking and actual stupid/unfair forms of pvp, how is this form of player piracy / blockading unfair? If they just wiped the players from the instance with no comms etc then yeah just being annoying, but they are (from your sentence above) making them drop the cg goods / playing the pirate roleplaying a blockade-eer.

2v1 with a cutter that makes it to where no one that can beat the interdiction can get away, with a fer de lance with him. Thats fair right?

Yes it is. the people are trying to run a blockade, i would never expect to see only one ship interdict me to stop me from evading the blockade, thats just silly. Have you ever seen a millitary post where theres only one guard, you know just to make it fair?

I'm on the pirate's side here...
The pirates have gone somewhere they can actually pirate, and if you want to avoid them you can either try to run the blockade or go to solo.

If they're actually willing to take cargo rather than just open fire on you, that's totally fair.

And they announced the blockade ahead of time, in the most public way possible. I'm not a fan of ganking, but I'd appreciate some good RP piracy. Of course, the blockade wasn't really piracy. Have the 13th Legion been offering a chance to leave the system?

Agreed. In fact we as a community should encourage this sort of behavior - announce you're running a blockade and give people the option to jump out or try their chances.

Yes, they specifically told me to high wake or else.

Bahahahahahaha. YARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Ye be delinquent an' ye knows it! Don't be lyin' now, ye 'ave cARRRgo in ye hold, 'an ye thinks ye can pass it tax free? Avast! Thar be no such thing as free in black waters! Fair be tariffs paid three ways square. Pay up... or die!

Then it sounds like this is a very good example of what piracy should be. Of course, the idea of an entire player group blockading a CG doesn't sit well with me. But if kind of thing was diffuse in both location and player demographic? Sounds like it'd be a huge improvement over the typical PvP.

I've been their for about 4 days and have had only seen one or two pirates around. One of which made the mistake of trying to rob a friend of mine. Had the pirate not of high waked he would of had more then just heat damage to deal with.

If they are blockading the system, and giving you the chance to drop cargo and leave, then in my books, its all legit. They are doing exactly what a pirate or Faction would do. Kudos to them for playing the game within some logical boundaries.

I must say I am confused by the responses here - unless all respondents are pirates themselves.
Why wouldn't/couldn't/shouldn't someone organize a counter-pirate action?

Piracy is piracy irregardless if you consider it legitimate or not.
Even if these are "good pirates" playing by the "good pirate" rules (and since much stock was placed on the RP aspects of it) what system government or group(s) encouraging the CG would tolerate piracy? They wouldn't - they would organize something to rid the system and CG of pirate activity.

I should point out I'm not against you gathering a group to counter them... that's good too. It's how this whole thing is supposed to go....
Pirates prey on traders, giving the traders the option to either stealth/run the blockade, or recruit/hire escorts.
Bounty Hunters are attracted to counter the pirates (and if they aren't you should be bribing them with loot).
Pirates have to flee or switch from loot-carters to combat loaded ships. Or they can try to keep pirating while running when the pimped-out Corvette starts raining fire on them.
Look! Look at all that wonderful gameplay and engagement - all because the pirates did us the kindness of playing the role of pirate.

No, not at all. The OP said "unfair" piracy, and i responded asking why its unfair and giving my view that it isnt unfair. Not once did i say that he shouldnt group together to rid the galaxy of this pirate threat, as that is just a good and valid reason for pvp.
What specifically i didnt like was he was doing it because he believes it is unfair piracy.

Well, the systems usually do organize a response, like the paired CG's in Fedmich.

And I don't think anyone is saying their shouldn't be a player organized response. We're just saying that this probably doesn't merit the same kind of complaint ganking/poor-spirited PvP usually gets. If you look at the original thread, there were plenty of cmdrs who said they would head out there to try and break up the blockade.

I can't think of a really good analogy, but if you have a midget vs a heavyweight boxer (or multiple heavyweight boxers in a group) that might be considered unfair. I think op is using the word unfair in the traditional meaning of the word, rather than the new meaning which is apparently analogous to invalid.
