Cue in gold farmers. The price ceiling of any saleable items will always be based on the real money equivalent of game credits that can be obtained in a given time frame. If you make that figure higher than the usual salaries in "gold farmer countries" then CIG will be losing revenues to those gold farmers.

In other words CIG can't just arbitrarily decide on its own that "prices will be for sure more expensive after release" without establishing in game credit progress rates or discussing a second stabilising reference currency.

Are you suggesting that the CIG folks seemingly don't have any experience in this whole online gaming (massive or otherwise), or the multiple economies that go with it (in-game and out), and also seem to have overlooked the two decades of experiences accumulated on the topic? I'm shocked — shocked, I say.

What the heck is going on with that floor design? Get some safety barriers around that area! Trip hazzard!

You dont get the scale. We're HUGE, and that human is standing on an alien city. Each of the blocks is a giant appartment building, the ridges are streets. As you go about your business you are a God to these creatures. Its all modeled down to the single individual alien critter, who has an income, occupation, and the O2 in the bloodstream is measured at 1024Hz!

I'm still chewing over the whole "we outsourced our ship design and creation - but then thought it would be better if we did it ourselves!" thing - none of it makes sense to me.

Or we're really tiny and they've built the place out of Toblerone...

I love the complete lack of shadows on any of the non-map entities there.

It doesn't look too good, but I'd say 'still in alpha' would be a legitimate excuse here. At the stage SC is at, as long as they are aware that it needs doing, and are likewise aware of the likely consequences of adding it (an obvious hit on the GPU for a start), such cosmetic issues aren't important for now. What matters is the core gameplay.

Sadly, CIG seem to have this all backwards, and are adding the cosmetics before sorting out the core. "All fur coat and no knickers" would seem to sum it up nicely.

Maybe it's to do with Walgreens being what in the UK we'd call a Chemists or a Pharmacy. They are all over the place in the US.

"Star Citizen delay is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to Walgreens, but that's just peanuts to 3.0"

If you ask me, I personally think some of the CIG devs are probably fully aware. Its leadership though seems to prefer to just publicly state that prices "can only rise" without any qualification, in order to cash in predatorily on the false hype and expectation the statement creates in the not so aware backer population.

By "they", you mean Firaxis? No, XCom still has its hooks in me, I just broke the surface for a moment to gasp for breath, before I head back down.

No one's safe from 'yet another turn' bro :D

So they folded rest of dropped stuff from 2.6.0 some 3 months later. Just statement of the fact, no big fuss about it.

That flight model

Is it better or worse? It feels better at least for my casual eye. Very ED ish :D

If I consider 2.6 as test bed for Squadron 42 introducionary episode, things might go slightly better than before. So we might actually see Squadron intro this year.
