2.3 Stream on [All 2.3 feature discussions here please.]

Sooooo now that we can see out pilot..... can we get a space loach (is that how it's spelt?) for my right shoulder now? XD

...

As for Fisher's Rest......she looks jaw dropping. Anyone remember the forest domes on the Valley Forge.......wow!

You mean the movie where mankind nukes their last forests ... in space? Where a tree-hugger-space-dude kills his colleagues for some plants with 2 blocky R2D2s? You must be that :O old to know the movie. But the pool-bot-2000 was cool though.

Grab a two-seater and have your multi-crew Camera Man do both.

For some reason I didn't even consider that crew members will be able to use the camera. There will be some amazing new videos indeed. The combat footage potential from a designated camera man will be unreal. I just got a tad bit more excited.

First of all, Thank you FDev! I just got a chance to watch the stream. I really love the detail in Holo-Me and the new camera system looks amazing compared to the debug. The Dolphin turned out quite well from the looks of it. I can't wait to fly to a megaship after I make my avatar. I hope it runs smoothly on all the platforms. Good luck with the Beta. Christmas in Spring. I'm so excited.

Is it Thursday yet? Also I hope the Dolphin gets some nice jumprange. I'd be thrilled if it had 30+ with enough internal space for the essential exploration loadout-scanners, fuel scoop (crosses fingers for class 5), sheild, and hopefully a decent passenger bay. I can live without AMFUs but that would also be nice to have room for 1.

Canyon runs with the internal cam facing your character. Oh yeser.

...very short canyon runs maybe. :)

That'd work really well, if your avatar reacted when about to hit a canyon wall. As soon as he/she starts looking scared, turn left. If he/she then looks absolutely terrified, turn right.

There is a very heated thread of people, including me, arguing over the inability to have long hair in ED in Dangerous discussion. Good times.

I saw that thread. Remlok systems that auto-protect crew on breach won't work with a whole lot of hair, and helmets need to auto-deploy in emergencies. So you can easily lore-explain that away.

The pictures of astronauts with longer hair is basically a non-point. I don't care either way, but the argument for is basically limited to "I want it".

Long hair is fine with me... But when the canopy goes you're ded.
So much salt. Its glorious.

Suck in vacuum for fashion. Funny.

Maybe if I make thread after thread they'll go forward with shield nerf?

Remlok, seriously. They make life support and emergency life support systems that attach to a pilot or crew member before exposure to space.

You can even see ads for Remlok in stations.

Know what's super funny

People complaining about "MAH IMMERSHUNS" with telepresense crew and yet.... They are ok with long hair that would kill you in a emergency and generally be a pain in the butt.

I mean I hate to spoil your fun laughing at folk who care about things that you personally don't and all, but perhaps the people who freak out at the idea of telepresence and the people who want long hair are... you know. Different people?

And if we're making a list of "Things In Elite: Dangerous That Perhaps Aren't Completely Practical In Really-Real Life", I'd suggest that you'd have to go a fair way down it before you hit "Having Shoulder-Length Hair".
