2.3 Stream on [All 2.3 feature discussions here please.]

Its all in preparation of space legs.. let that sink in .. :p

Space legs will be useful for pushing of surfaces in zero G..... or have 31st century technologies developed artificial gravity for ships?

I can't see much walking done in zero G and, on planets with very low G loads at the surface, pilots will be bouncing around on feet Apollo lunar landing style....

The cockpit cam angles will be great on those 300,000ls flights.
It looks gorgeous.
I'm going to have to try and make my holo me... me.

I'm very interested to see the new options that mega-ships will open up. I imagine they might be a precursor to the ability for commanders to construct permanent fixtures/structures of their own in space, or in the shorter or immediate term to act as carriers for hyperspace jumps. It would make wars more interesting and coordinated if larger squadrons could arrive at the destination together and launch in unison for attack, with the idea being that a mega-ship can support a very large and super powerful FSD.

Dolphin looks nice, and the Holo-Me is above and beyond what I expected. Flying around with the external ship-locked camera with rotation unlocked, through trenches and between asteroids will be great fun. All in all some HQ updates, which makes me more hopeful about what multi-crew will be like in demo as opposed to on paper.

That was the first thing that came to mind when I saw how detailed the HoloMe is going to be.
Your avatar will be the guy or gall you're going to be walking around with when space legs are being introduced.
Imho I think we'll be walking around in our ships and perhaps stations first before we'll be able to walk on planet's surfaces.

I know I'm gonna enjoy the new additions shown so far greatly.

Only seen ezren's summary so far but - impressed. Nice work FD peeps. I'm especially looking forward to these 'megaships'.

..I wonder if they move? If they're blowuppable? Or chaseawayable?

Basically are they more similar to cap ships, or outposts, or something altogether different. Where's that popcorn :)

Well, 'space legs' is something of a figure of speech in that sense.

Check out this earlier concept pic - features what look like retro thrusters attached to people's limbs in order to aid movement in zero g

I'll hold my hand up and say that I really wasn't looking forward to 2.3. But from what I saw tonight I have to say that i got it wrong. I still doubt that I will use multi crew much, but I'd have been happy with just tonights stuff if that was all 2.3 was going to contain. Loved Holo Me! The camera looks superb too and the fact that this is going to apply to SRVs as well is just amazing. At last we will be able to actually see the commander within the SRV bubble and the thought of some of the angles and shots we will be able to get is breathtaking.

Not really sold on the Dolphin to much, but it was unexpected so....maybe there may be another ship revealed on Thursday.

As for Fisher's Rest......she looks jaw dropping. Anyone remember the forest domes on the Valley Forge.......wow!

Really looking forward to the decent camera we will be getting as taking screenshots can be a bit annoying to get the perfect shot.

Don't really get why they are thinking of selling more "complex" suit design's, just give us the whole lot!

Also PLACEHOLDER SHIP NAME :)
YES OMG THAT.

Super impressed. Both the character creator and camera suites are WAY better than they needed to be and to be honest way better than I expected. Don't really care about multicrew but just those two things will easily make 2.3 a hit for me personally. Even more so if PLACEHOLDER SHIP NAME is a precursor to what I imagine we're all hoping.

2.3 is allready a success to me even though I won't be using multicrew.
I'm curious if they'll have even more surprises on Thursday, they wanted to keep that exclusively for multicrew if I understood that right but they lost a bit track of time last night and said something about some more features this Thursday.

Who knows, the Dolphin and Superships were quite unexpected.

Just watched the whole stream. Pretty cool. The character creator is pretty detailed. I don't care much for the camera but the character creator looks solid and when combined with multicrew should be fun. And when we get to walk around. Yeah. Looking forward to that at some point.
