2.3 Stream on [All 2.3 feature discussions here please.]

How long after 2.3 drops before these posts start to surface:

"In mah 'vette bounty hunting, request a random multi crew invite to operate my turrets.
This guy comes on and shoots up all the authority vessels before being kicked,
I get killed with a £20mil rebuy! Giv meh muh moneiz back FD!"

Almost guaranteed! [hehe]

Hmm,, not sure.. you get kicked automatically if you are breaking the law.

I know, but it only takes a couple of shots to aggro the system authority vessels. By the time you get kicked, you may have already doomed the poor host pilot.

Just hoping FD have some sort of plan in place to prevent this! :)

I can see sabotage ganking, or "gankotage"....
Someone puts out a crew wanted message for had rez hunting- receives some guy with Cutter envy who proceeds to engage every legitimate target in sight. instead of helping, he starts "missing", turning the captains 1 billion dollar ship into a flaming ball of wreckage... "lolz, sozz guy"

Ha they think randoms will be getting anywhere near my ships, so much nope right there unless they have it so if the player does anything wrong when they get kicked they get the bounty or any bounty as a consequence of their actions is removed

that said the changes for bounties for wings too is great, pretty sure the only multicrew feature I'll use alot is the two player SLFs that will be heaps of fun in a RES, oh and the fact that your crew can use limpets while you have weapons is great no more toggling between fire groups in pirate ships

and if they introduce control for SRVs for multicrew that would be awesome, I'm most looking forward to the camera suite though, it looks so good

and finally that corvette body kit, is an abomination it's going nowhere near my ship haha

The deterrent seen in the details so far, is for players to share fines etc.

That's not going to cut it.

The griefers are just going to come along for the ride then shoot at the station first opportunity. Them getting kicked after this is not going to be any consolation to the poor pilot who now gets sent straight to the rebuy screen by an angry station.

The cmdr blacklist mechanic isn't going to work as a preventative measure for this kind of behaviour, at least on xbox - they'll just burn through alt accounts.

I hope fd have actually thought all this through before unleashing a new era of griefing.

Well, we'll have to see how it goes. They've obviously considered the possibility of abuse, and they've got the auto-kick function. So there may be a layer of protection there.

I'm sure the very same will pop up on the beta, pretty quickly.

Here is part 2 of my 2.3 overview and breakdown.

Ezren has it down. Legal bounty hunting means insta kick for those trying to be jerks

They definitely thought ahead on the griefing aspect, otherwise the auto-kick function wouldn't be present. I'm hoping that the inclusion of this will also mean protection from ramification for the ship owner for the offenses that cause a player to be kicked.

The crewfinder looks like it's been brewing for a while now. The possibilities with that tool are pretty exciting.

And if you look at the features in just this patch, it's massive. Pre-Horizons I doubt many people would even think any of this was conceivable. And this isn't just some new station design, or prettied up outposts, or even a new mission type. This is a whole new way to play the game and interact with others. That's a pretty massive addition; and the structure of multi-crew is very approachable and easy-access, creating an alternative avenue of play.

Griefers that'll care about being kicked after getting the station / security gunning for you: zero. Their work is already done.

Eyepatch must be messing with your vision.

I've heard of selective hearing, but I wonder if selective vision is a thing. [haha]

Is anyone else going to be flying their ships using the new camera suite, even if they have no HUD? There's gonna be a lot of me flying my ships from strange angles inside of my cockpit/bridge, haha. Like that second seat up top in a dropship, or the right side of a Cobra/Python. [haha]

Smart commanders might do a bit of vetting before allowing someone on their ship...perhaps the ability to view a prospective crew members total assets/ranking? That way only CMDRs choosing to take (potential griefer alt accounts) noob? crewmembers would be at risk from people trying that kind of dodge.

I wonder if the new camera will work on the SRV. That's got some potential, there.
