First Experience of Griefers

See its kinda funny, the Dev want us to give feedback. So people give feedback, now what is not helpful is someone making a post whining about how other people gave feedback.

I've yet to see a post that does not class as "IR ****** IR got blown up in PvP enabled game, IR ask for Dev make this impossible as I no like it and I no care about who does." . now stating mechanically how they did it and where is useful but only that part not the metric butt ton of anger over pixels and insults flung out . Feedback is eloquent and objective, thus far i've seen allot of anger and not allot of objectivity or actual useful suggestions to maintain the core game experience for everyone which also would not class as a PR nightmare (try selling people playing a game based on freedom how they like and then ban those people cause they are ***** without breaching EULA which many on these complaint, not feedback, threads want).

I would encourage anyone who believes that they have been blown up by another player in a location where they believe they should be safer, or where they think there should be a police force in place to protect them, to open a new Ticket, and repot it unger a 'Gameplay' issue.

For example, Being blown up when you are inside a no fire zone around a station in federation space, with no meaningful repercussions to the person who attacked you.

Its just as much a game exploit as anything else, and deserves to be recorded as such.

It's sort of crossposting, but hey...Michael responded to my DM and said that "more law enforcement" is coming (presumably beta 1). We will get to know more during this month as usual trough newsletters.

That's because most people do not understand there is no popo yet...and ...when their suggestions are either what is coming or trying to get rid of an ant hill with a tactical nuke.

Yeah, I think most people understand that popo and faction hits are coming eventually. They are just frustrated that currently there is not much we can do against this type of griefing and abuse of missing mechanics.

But they should use the balm of knowing that this helps prevent in small measure the griefing that may happen post release even after the police is in.

Yeah, but it does not help them now.

I can't find the will to log back in at the moment, because I am back to Sidewinder and about 1200cr. I cant afford another laser, so hunting for bounties with one noob laser is simply an NPC Kill Steal festival. And I feel that trading is pointless because I will just be griefed again when docking or exiting a station.

I know I'm letting the griefers 'win' by not playing, but I really don't want to be sick of the game before greater content makes it awesome.

And the balls in the developers court as it were. Come on Bliz...err, FD. ;)

The nasty stuff has to be allowed to happen now so that it can be dealt with later, and fairly too. To put it another way, which is better, to lose your shirt knowing that there are up and coming wipes or to lose it later when you know there won't be?

I think that when voice comms and being able to group up eventually enter the game, some pirates/griefers may find life a little less 'fun' for them.

Got the same experience, I just rammed my sidewinder with full speed into his big fat A*** and boom, was a free loaner anyway so only lost 2000 credit.

I remember EVE having major problems with the suicide exploit. A lot of Pvp's really hated it because they "weren't playing fair".

Sounds like an excellent way to annoy everyone. If I'm honest. Especially if it's done repeatedly.

I don't remember anything about this? Ships don't damage each other in EVE when they bump. Unless there's something I've missed since I played the Beta. :p

The bumps in EVE stopped ships from warping away and could then shoot down (especially frighters / jump freighters) and thus was hated. No damage from the bumping itself though.

However, before jumping on forums and crying for injustice...is understandable, but gets annoying in time, especially without any research and assuming that this is representative of final game, when word "beta" itself should indicate that it's not.
In my humble opinion, this game, even in beta, needs anti-griefing features-so soon as possible.

That's good to hear :)

Yup, in release you lose noob ship you walk! :))

Naa there are a number of starting options, at least for early backers. So you could just start another character.

I think one of them even starts with a Cobra. I'm sure a suicide cobra is a much more effective missile :D

Yep, there are a whole load of starting options...including starting as a pirate with an upgraded but stolen Cobra in an anarchy system. This could get interesting if we have people sitting outside the anarchy space-ports blowing up people as they come out. Getting retaliation in early I guess.

So yes, FD do mean for being a pirate being a viable option. However, the various upgraded start options across the board means that people are going to have to be restrained..there are going to be some people who start as rather over-powered.

And that probably includes all of us in the premium beta..so get it out of your system now and don't be a bunch of bullies as the testing progresses.

It was PVP or PVE??

I was killed sometime when leaving station, and sometime when dropped off supercruise when in route to destination. No problem for me, with I (now) understand that police enforcement are not implemented yet in this PB2 version.
What I am asking now are that I do not know how to differentiate NPC from players. My experience so far tells me that when I was killed just at undock station it was a player, and when I was killed when interdicted was a NPC. Is that a right assumption?
What can I do to escape? Are there some tactics from each scenario?

Felt like a blockade runner today at Freeport - griefer hanging around in an Anaconda no less, attacking everything that moved. Cue very fast approach and landing since I really didn't want to lose my cargo on the way in.

Waiting for me on the way out as well - again I was fully loaded, exited the station at full boost to find a mass of missiles following in my wake - well that's what Point Defense is for isn't it ??

Second trip there and two Anacondas waiting, completely fluffed up the landing, but made it intact - waited until they had some other poor sap in their sights before I left again. If there was one on the second trip I had planned to leave sans cargo and see if I could deal with the threat, but 2 ?? No chance...

Enjoyed the challenge of getting in / out although the station definitely got hit and didn't respond which was a bit of a downer.

I was looking for a place to put this suggestion, here seems suitable...
This is more a suggestion for your thinktank sessions.
I was writing a more detailed explanation but ran out of characters. Essentially a camper destroyed my drives whilst I was exiting the station but within the no-fire zone of Freeport. I thought it was a glitch so I logged out. Upon returning, my craft is 100% except the drives which are 0%. I limped back to the entrance @16Kph. Once entering the airlock the max speed is halved and I am @8Kph. Barely making it through due to loitering, I then proceed down to bay 19 towards the end of the station. Time is now about 3mins left to dock. I get to the bay and try to land except the station spins faster than the manouvring thrusters can cope and I slide under some gantry. Seeing the writing on the wall, I reset my save.
My suggestion is an option is to have a tug/tractor emergency service for critically hit ships so all the work we have amassed is not for nought.
Thanks for listening, cheers.
