Jameson under lockdown??

Guys calm down. No, it's not PVPers causing a lockdown. No, it's not a bug.

It's just ollobrains (that guy from reddit) and his little clan trying to create emergent content...

That scumbag! We should round up a posse and go kick their teeth in.

from the safety of their private group of course, so PVPers can't stop them. So get yo bum into the haz res, and gather bounty vouchers.

Oh, right.

I'm based at JM in SD.

I wanted to do the CG. JM is in lockdown.

2 options:

1. Produce more salt than the Atlantic, or

2. Fly my FdL to Bunda / Faraday Ring, call in my Python and modules. Fit it out and go to the CG.

I chose option 2.

Took 20 minutes - start to finish.

Aww, bless your cotton little socks, you've learnt how to post links that are actually not relevant to the topic at hand.

2/ 10 for effort.

Well you get a 10/10 from me for hilarity, and a -1/10 for reason, logic, self-composure, and reading comprehension.

How?
Why?

Just went to buy a ship at founders and fit it out, to find out I cannot do anything at founders due to it being under lockdown :S

The links I shared are in direct relation to your "problem" and "questions" of the BGS. They go into some detail that has already been shared with you, and obviously ignored. Also, those links are a bit dated, showing that this isn't NEW gameplay or NEW concepts. Been this way awhile and it isn't anyone's fault but your own for not being prepared.

But, I can get a little closer to the actual topic at hand

Try teaching a 2 year old to operate a crane, not easy.

Try teaching this guy what a self entitled brat hes being, impossible.

Who now?
Never heard of him.

Also love how "emergent content" is just code for "annoy as many people as possible" :p

BTW its evident your limited game time does not extend to what is now 1 and a half days of constant forum whine.

I remember a time when the discussion was about the OP, not other posters in the thread. It was a long time ago I'll admit, and a few of you seem to have forgotten in the passage of time.

So here is a reminder - please do try to post ON TOPIC. Thanks.

I don't get why people who like Founder's World don't want to work for the faction that controls the station.

I mean, backers/"elite" players put it into lockdown; why wouldn't backers/"elite" players want to remove it?

Last I saw, there were a good many people BHing to lift the lockdown. It should be gone in a day or two.

Lockdown is a state caused by illegal trading, murder and gaining fines or bounties.

Lockdown also shuts down station services and is often used offensively against other player groups to shut down their mission board.

Working as intended.

I agree re the desire to remove it but, if Ed offered info re faction bucket data states cmdrs could avoid it happening in the 1st place.

cmdr docks and opens the page revealing data since last tick on all possible states and realizes that unless cmdrs start bounty hunting a lockdown is imminent. S/he calls out to allies to drop in for a few
mins to lend a hand to avoid this potential lockdown....a mini CG all because we have info to fine tune actions with the bgs.

If this data becomes available to allow intelligent proactivity to occur (instead of blind dumping of actions) then no one really has ground to complain!

Well, I don't do combat. I only explore. My DBX(with the worst dogfighter pilot in the history of gaming) won't be able to accomplish much. I was certain the Pilots Federation had some competent security to keep order. Obviously they don't, and their ranks seems filled with trolls and griefers. A reminder why I like hanging out in deep space.
I only come back to "civilized space" to try a new ship, change fittings or tweak some modules then head out again.

I like that idea. Real, or near, time reporting on an upcoming issue.

Because the people who give you your rank (that we all have), plus various other services - shouldn't be able to be attacked in the first place.
The Lore states that PF hardware is built in as "standard" in all ships, so they should be able to remote shutdown your ship the moment you try to be a pain.

This is also a great point - and should be extended to all factions.
Allies of a faction should be informed when it's under threat - and not find out when the system is in lock down.

Well, then you are at the mercy of the CMDR's who do "do combat".

Similarly, let us put this into a real world scenario:
"I don't cook" for whatever reason. Whenever I am hungry I must visit a restaurant and people who do cook. One time late at night I awoke hungry as ever. I needed food. Unfortunately, all the restaurants were closed. But I am so hungry. My only options are at this point #1 make calls to people who I know cook and hope someone comes to help me out, or #2 cook myself.

For correlation purposes:
"I don't combat" for whatever reason. Whenever the BGS needs combat I must rely on other players who do combat. One time, a system I like was on lockdown and I needed in there bad. Unfortunately, all combat CMDR's are off doing their own thing. But the BGS has put a lockdown in place. My only options are at this point #1 make calls to people who I know combat and hope someone comes to help out, or #2 combat myself.

I was under the impression is had be disconnected from the BGS after the last time this happened.

They should have brought some reality in. Fly against PF, see the benefits of being in PF go.

No insurance, no access to Jameson or system etc.

I'm sure some kickstarter backers would winge, but as they would have made the choice themselves that's their own fault.

True, but if bucket data were available, then non combat cmdrs could serve an important role in reporting this data to allies that do perform combat to avoid unwanted consequences which would serve not only him/her but those that s/hed call upon.

I would think that if Jam memorial went into a bust or famine state that would be an embarrassment and could be avoided or caused with detailed updated bucket data info.

Motivation not only to cause or prevent states all over the galaxy would rise with knowing how much of this or that is necessary to trigger or prevent states and just maybe bring more player interest in the BGs in general

.. or take a trip into the town next door which has restaurants open, while I wait for the closed ones to re-open :)
