This Core Dynamics concept ship looks awesome, can we have it please FDev?

Looking back through the digital artbook, I noticed this concept ship tucked away on one of the pages;

hFoN

Can only assume it is the Core Dynamics Hawk (FHK designation) - it looks like the big-brother of the Vulture.

It would be a great alternative to the FDL by the looks of things, any chance of it being included soon FDev? [yesnod] The game certainly needs more premium ship variety...

The trouble is - if we need one ship in the game, it's the imperial medium combat ship.
You feds've had enuff.

(not saying that this ship doesn't look awesome, of course. It they, for example, replaced FDS with this, making it a smaller Python, I'd be okay with that)

No indication it would be faction locked - it has the Vulture livery, indicating it would probably be on general sale.

I'm not a Fed either :)

No. What we need is for the alliance to actually build a ship. Any ship will do but using outdated/commercially available models for everything and being outclassed by both fed and imp ships isn't a winning game if you want to maintain independence

Make it blue-white, round and sexy, name it Gutamaya Cutlass and I'm in. ;)

Aliance would first need to have an official Navy. Which would kind of undermine the whole "Aliance of independent systems" thing you guys are rolling with. :)

That is definitely a cool looking vessel.
It is taken from the concept art book.
I would love to see this in the game obviously, but there are a lot of new ships I would love to see in the game.
My hunger for new ships is insatiable.

I would like a medium pad competitor for the Python for example, or a heavy Imperial fighter.

Only we have the Euro fighter built by a coalition of different countries who are allies. Kind of like an Alliance of different sovereign states military working together for a common need without becoming 1 nation now in the 20th century.

So I can't see a reason why the council of admirals when looking at their fleet wouldn't think:
"Hang on, we seem to be outgunned here, perhaps we should follow the example of an alliance over a thousand years ago to sort this out"

That's not exactly accurate. EU itself doesn't have an air force per se. Yes Eurofighter does exist, but in its essence it has nothing to do with EU. Just couple of countries that decided that developing a fighter together would be cheaper.
And if you're referencing NATO as a "EU force", well NATO has Gripens, Rafales, Mig-29s, L-159s, Airbuses and Boiengs, Antonovs,...

So I think it's more natural for political body like this to use whatever there is available. (a.k.a. non-rank-locked ships)

But hey, I'm being tongue-in-cheek, here. Don't take me too seriously. :)

Erm, explorers could do a true exploration dedicated ship... Not a conversion of a mutlipurpose one (DBX) or an ex-military (ASP), when it's not a full and expensive military-multipurpose boat (Conda) ;)

Couple of countries that all happen to be in NATO and the EU who supply most of the EUs contributions.

Yes there is more with others buying elsewhere in NATO, but it has been done and no reason the Alliance couldn't. Even if it was just the Alliance navies in the Old Worlds taking a little trip to Reorte to talk to a well known company based there.

Doesn't have to be an Empire/Fed exclusive area only.

Oh and I have no problems with your opinion and can never take anything too seriously on the forums. Just with Alliance involved in power play and supposedly a superpower I tend to wonder why and how without a bit of cooperation like this.

That one, too, yes. I am an avid supporter of an iExplorer, size and price between the Asp and Conda.

There is the 'Alliance Defense Force' in the lore, with a fleet and command structure drawn from the forces of member systems. There's plenty of wealthy systems in the Alliance that could justifiably commission Alliance-specific designs. Since there's no means in the game to rank up with the ADF, how about adding a twist - that to get Alliance specific designs your ranks with the other two superpowers must be LOW enough :)

How do I lower my rank?

My idea would be that you have to be allied to a member state and do 1 mission for them to get rank 1. Then another member state for rank 2 and so on, so your rep/rank is from multiple members who form the combined fleet.

It was a mostly tongue in cheek suggestion since you can't lower your rank and of course the outcry if something was introduced that folks who have played the rank grinds couldn't get would be so epic that I almost want to see it happen for the popcorn value....

It does seem like there's a bit of a gap between the Asp and Python (MP) or the Vulture and FDL (combat), if you don't count the Fed and Imperial ships that require rank. Seems like this would fit nicely somewhere in that slot.

It looks to me like concept art for the Vulture, as the back half looks a lot like back half of a vulture with pieces of a ship kit fitted. Wouldn't be the first time the front half of a ship was changed alot, like the very long antenna like pylons on the Imperial Clipper concept art.
