One beatiful thing about multicrew

Nice to hear something positive about it. I also welcome it, even if I don't use it. Still think 1st person should be an option.

"There is nothing to do in Multi-Crew"

Wrong. Whilst I do agree that I would've appreciated being able to share other categories than basically just pure bounty hunting, I'm still welcoming this new feature with open arms, because it has the potential to become much more. This whole idea that there is nothing to do in Multi-Crew is incorrect. The correct way of declaring that particular statement would be "There is nothing what you want to do in Multi-Crew"

Just hold your horses. I'm pretty sure that the Dev team is looking in the future on how to expand this awesome feature much further. We can't know what they are or have already planned for us.

I like the OP's post, good stuff. I can't wait to take my new friends for a cruise. [smile]

A quick post before bed - have to agree with OP here.

For my two regular wingmates, one guy is new, the other seasoned. The latter and I have spent the better part of the past two months winged up more often than not. Rarely do we take our space adventures seriously.
I've found that I have more fun playing this game semi-aimlessly, and most of the time we just screw around, have fun, and decide each day what the new "thing to do" is. That has resulted in more laughs and more more fun in this game than I ever had.

And that doesn't include the other friends that we wing up with from time to time, which just makes it better.

I think multicrew is going to be great when you rez in a like-minded CMDR and just have fun.

Could not agree more, having a blast playing in wing, has changed the game for the better for me. And multicrew will add a lot to socialization in this game.

Early days, but agree with OP based on my beta experience. I've had two chances to play multicrew so far. I've made two new CMDR friends and had great fun despite the disconnects. While Beta is somewhat self selecting of players who are happy to cooperate and noodle around, it's pretty encouraging improvement to player interaction.

Last day I joined two guys in mitterand hollow and raced in fighters while the planet once every 30 seconds was shadowing the moon we were at. It was an eerie and gorgeous experience at the same time.

That sounds marvellous :)

And damn how is 'Racing' not one of the branded activities? I'm sure others have done it, but I'm off to petition in the Beta forum :D

Would be cool if they could allow Helm to participate too in such a mode. The NPC crew member functionality is totally in, you'd think it'd be technically possible.

you can't explore with multi crew, you can't do anything but pew pew pew, no SRV, no mission, just pew pew pew.

That is going to get old really soon.....

And racing, as mentioned in the OP? :D

*EDIT*

Oh PS, Beta thread HERE requesting that Racing be an official Multicrew activity if anyone want to add any thoughts.

I had to transfer a ship to my current station, I didn't feel like bounty hunting, it was like 2 am. Put on edtracker, joined an exploration trip and chatted for 15 minutes with a guy informing him if there were any ocean/elw worth scanning while talking about random stuff in between jumps. Then my ship arrived at the station and we parted both ways.

It's an extremely barebone kind of exploration, I'll give you that, but it's an alternative.
And I'm all in for more options and more ways to play the game, even if they still feel a little unripe.

Spending the time waiting for a ship to arrive in MC is an excellent positive point for MC.o

That's been my experience... When you stop trying to squeeze every credit out of every moment and just enjoy the game for what it is and do some fun stuff... Base jumping, canyon racing, trolling NPCs, you have a blast... Throw in a wing mate or 2 and the fun level does nothing but go up!

All I got was some doofus who shot authority ships and got me wanted and a rebuy. And a few who joined, said nothing, and left.

How did you actually find an exploration ship to join? It just seems to put me into some random ship when I request a session -- is there a way to choose?

I tried choosing Mentor, for example, and wound up in a mining ship.

No, it's random, you can choose the general activity you want to partecipate in, but that's it.

Shooting authority ships by error is very easy, the gunner hud is very imprecise when targets are very close together. If you want to bounty hunt go in haz extractions or lawless systems and then hit the find crew option.

Just tested it and I am a little bit disappointed.

It's extremly unstable. From 20 tries I had 2 Connection where I was very confused about what I can do and no one talked.
Then I hosted myself and had some more luck. But the Players got kicked randomly and also on certain action like when trying to get into my fighters.

At least one was talking active and could tell me a little more about all this. Thank you Cmdr DriveOp :)
He sounded like it is fun when it is working. That prevented me from turning my back to that Feature right now.
I will try it again at another time.
