Elite Dangerous Machinima Video

I just saw the video and oh my god it's awesome! That makes me even more excited to get my hands on that sweet camera and maybe I'll try to do something with it.

Just that walking at the beginning was a bit cringy but still I was impressed by how you managed to do it so I didn't cared much about it.

Nice one VJ

Yeah.. I should have spent more time on it, but I was kinda busy with work and a few other things, and was focused more on getting the story right.. lol But glad you enjoyed it anyway

Some time ago I blindly accepted a delivery mission to the settlement on Mitterand Hollow, good money that I thinks, it's only a couple of Ls away...
Jaw drops, what? So that's why the money's so good...

Yeah, you don't land on Mitterand Hollow. Mitterand Hollow lands on you. Kind of the Chuck Norris of planets.

Question: How do you get your character's mouth to move in synch with your voice?
I was trying to find a quick and easy way to animate characters faces. So I used CrazyTalk.. but the results were not what I really wanted. I could rig a 3d Character, but it was going to be too time consuming. However in the future, I might reconsider this.

Thanks for the feedback. I saw that activity on one other video (I forget who posted it) doing pretty much the same thing. Was curious if it reacted to you speaking into your mike but glad you got it to work in this instance no matter how you did it.

BTW, that scene of the ship standing on a piece of land that cracked and swallowed your ship was a very nicely done effect. Could you advise as to how you pulled that off?

Maybe you could include a London accent in your extensive range (surely enough time has passed & there is no longer any animosity with the English). I for one don't have any problem with the fact that you are descended from our deported miscreants..in fact, I like to think of it in terms that cement a genetic bond & build a bridge of friendship between our two nations ie 'you'd be English if your ancestors weren't criminal scum' :D

NB - If you need pointers on the gritty realism of an authentic Cockney accent, may I recommend van Dyke in the seminal arthouse movie 'Mary Poppins'.

Joking aside...good stuff VJ +1 This could be your niche in the Elite Universe!

No you don't!
I know he kept saying "it's safe", but pretty sure there was some coercion/mind-control at play there. :D

Or duplication. Whatever's there might simply be using a sample of Vasili's voice and mapping it onto its own words.

Also, I'm now starting to wonder about those "cure for alien parasite" news reports I see in systems that are recovering from outbreaks... <_< >_>
