Mobius population

Wait? They have a website? And a US group?
I joined two Mobius groups and I've never seen a single soul in either in almost 1000 hours.

Me too. I always play in Mobius PVE and can't recall ever encountering another CMDR. Not too worried, as I mostly want to avoid the idiots, and I have, but so far I might as well be in Solo.

I originally signed up with Mobius PVE (I didn't know there were two groups) and I'm in Canada, but I almost never saw anyone even at the CG locations. I then signed up with Mobius and I see people in that group all the time. Although Mobius is an EU centric group, it seems people globally signed up with them, so I see more North Americans in the "EU" group then the PVE group.....

I know it's not a port-forwarding issue - I have seen other live beings on, just never in either of the Mobius groups, and I have been pretty much living at the current CG's (I delivered the very last load of Shelters and Medicines for the Mu Koji Refugees) and not a soul to be found.

I originally joined Möbius after a spate of griefers attacks one after the other.
I did turn one to dust but he waited for me out side the station to have another go. In the combat he dropped inside the station no fire zone and got lit up by the station. So I come out of the station again rebourne and several thousand lighter only to be killed again.

I spend most of my time exploring so with möbius anyone I find out in the void just wants to say hi rather than kill me for the 2 tones of cargo I may have.

Although I've played in Open now for about 5 months, that's only been because I've been well outside either 'bubble' of inhabited space. All of my ingame friends bar 2, are Mobius members and active players, and as I've got within 20 jumps of inhabited space, I've reverted to Mobius for safety.

Everyone I've met in Mobius has been friendly, approachable, intelligent, and articulate.. (as most Open players have also been, though none in Mobius have tried to blow me up!).:cool:

I play in different modes depending on how I'm feeling and when I'm in the mood to be sociable to folks I don't actually know but too grumpy/distracted/tired to be up for PvP action I see about as many folks in Mobius PvE as I do when I AM up for the possibility of PvP action and play in open. I typically stay away from CGs or "hot" trade routes publicized by the various 3rd party tools and I don't PP so I probably see fewer players in either mode than most of you do, one or two per couple-hour play session if I'm in the bubble, pretty much never if I'm not.

What's the population of Mobius usually? I think I read somewhere that private groups are limited to 20k players, in such a big universe that seems pretty lonely.

groups are limited to 20,000 players and while we have two groups one of 20,000 and the other being 17,000+ we have been forced to open a third group in prep for more players wanting a pve game.
But in regards to numbers I can say that with information from frontier at least 17,000 form one group do log into the group on a regular basis.
while some may say that they have not seen another commander while in Mobius,the same argument goes for open when people say that they don't come across anyone for ages and keeping in mind open has a few hundred thousand players. the weekends are the busiest times and while my friend list is only around 1000 at any given time 200 are logged in, while this is not a true indication of how many players are playing online I will say that I constantly come across players that are not on my friend list and to this day continue to add players when I come across.
the Mobius community is very active but frontier have been very tight lipped as to how many actually play within our private groups, only they can give the true numbers as to how many desire a pve game.

last I heard, mobius groups (yes, plural) have some 34k players. One group is full, one group is being filled, and one group is empty on standby.

And I got ninja'd by the man himself and didn't even know it.

I'm in the first Mobius group, and despite having a couple of hundred friends, every time I go online I meet new people.

Seen quite a few players I've interacted with in open to, so plenty of us switch between modes.

There are now two Mobius groups. Mobius for Euro/Asia timezones and Mobius PvE for US timezone. They got too big for the servers to handle so had to be split.

And its ok, the popular systems are usually quite busy. Shinrarta especially usually has several players around.

Three,

1 = Mobius = Europe
2 = Mobius PVE = US/Canada
3 = MOBIUS ASIAPACIFIC = Those upside down places.

oh... and also XBone and Ps4 Groups...

Nice bit of necro

Open is mainly safe, it's only at CGs and engineer systems you run into 'gankers' and personally I just consider that blockade running and makes the game a challange considering how poor NPCs are, really wish they would dial the difficulty of those back up again. It's easy to avoid getting killed open, even in unengineerd ships, if you know how.

Shush, you are not welcome here

Ooooo there is a Mobius for us upsidedowners!! <Might have to join that one now as I often don't see anyone in the other two groups which I put down to the TZ differences.

I'm UK based but joined the Mobius PvE group as the main Mobius group was full. I keep odd hours though and regularly meet upwards of 10 players per session just floating around aimlessly and not just at CG's.

Even in beta, I regularly meet a handful random Cmdrs on a nightly basis..... to be honest, I meet more Cmdrs in Mobius PvE than I ever met in open mode, both on PC and Xbox combined...

I play in mobius 90% of the time. Sometimes when I have a fat bank balance I play in open. Just to give the real pirates a target realy. Never at a CG though as there's no pirates there...just kiddys that want to pew pew.

I see lots of players in mobius. Normally it's just a quick o7. :)
