Frontier should either up the cap limit per group (again) or just admit the fact a very large number of regular players prefer pve and make an open pve space so all the pve players can play together rather than having to be split into smaller groups.

During the last Cargo CG, there were so many players in Mobius so that there were queues outside the CG Starport. The Large pads were very occupied... lots of fun actually.

...and while my friend list is only around 1000 at any given time 200 are logged in, while this is not a true indication of how many players are playing online I will say that I constantly come across players that are not on my friend list and to this day continue to add players when I come across...

You only have 1000 on your friends list? How is that possible? Aren't the present private group mechanics such that you have to accept commanders to your friends list before they can enter your group? Ergo your friends list should read 37.000 right? Please educate me.

groups are limited to 20,000 players and while we have two groups one of 20,000 and the other being 17,000+ we have been forced to open a third group in prep for more players wanting a pve game.
But in regards to numbers I can say that with information from frontier at least 17,000 form one group do log into the group on a regular basis.
while some may say that they have not seen another commander while in Mobius,the same argument goes for open when people say that they don't come across anyone for ages and keeping in mind open has a few hundred thousand players. the weekends are the busiest times and while my friend list is only around 1000 at any given time 200 are logged in, while this is not a true indication of how many players are playing online I will say that I constantly come across players that are not on my friend list and to this day continue to add players when I come across.
the Mobius community is very active but frontier have been very tight lipped as to how many actually play within our private groups, only they can give the true numbers as to how many desire a pve game.

You don't have to be friends with a group leader to request an invite. They're not and never have been on my list and I got in just fine.

In open 1 out of 10 salute or say "hello" back - if not less.

And the chances of meeting people is not less in Mobius.

It seems to me that some players are very bitter towards other players that don't want to fight other players in this game. For some unknown reason...a few 10s of thousands of people making there own group to play together in offends them. I've thought about it....and I can't for the life of me figure out where the bitterness comes from. If open play is so wonderfull....and mobius so terrible, then why comment at all? I asked to join mobius, I have my reasons to have asked. But if you don't play IN mobius, then what are you missing? Why get all wound up about it? Is it because

Pretty much yes. They don't like to fight other PvP players as the chance of losing their ship is too high, so they prefer to attack traders, explorers and other PvE types. Often, they even go so far as to lie to join Mobius and similar groups so they can attack unsuspecting commanders. They end up getting banned and such like, but I really don't know what drives them. Buncha snowflakes who're too scared to fight people who're prepared to fight back.
