Eh, what? The other ship already has to pay insurance as he is dead. Not sure what you are saying? And you dont need to 'boost for repairs', you already are safe unless you boost. There is no reason to boost unless lack of patience. Which is fine, but man up and take responsibility.

Perhaps the station's comm officer should issue a warning when you request docking "Please keep to the speed limit to prevent terrorist suicide bombers from destroying your ship, commander" to warn players. I for one didn't know about this behaviour until I read this thread. And I usually fly through the station opening with >300m/s

Doing this should be a bannable offense imho though.

My thoughts exactly. Clearly it shows these 'guys' their entertainment can only be given to them by others, if they allow them to. OP thought otherwise, and I would do the exact same thing.

Well I assume with one or two infractions like that, you would not be KOS or "Ememy of the State". It doesn't need to be a all or nothing system.

Folk are arguing that Frontier should implement a system that enforces the "spirit", this is no easy task. Certainly not the one-liner people seems to keep saying it is.

I am sure it won't be easy but an incremental system would perhaps be the most logical way, people could do bad stuff (but not continuously) and people could also make mistakes (but not continuously). Seems logical to me..

I'd just wish FD would spend their time on stuff we need their help on, not something we already control fully but are too lazy to use. Just seems like a waste of dev time. Nothing against a karma-system in general, could even lead to fun RP of bad-guys which is currently very difficult. But just the bland 'FD MUST PROTECT MY SPEEDDOCKING OR I WILL COMBAT LOG!!!!!' is not really what I need.

Know the rules and beat them at their own game! Simple. Like typical bullies once you stand up to them and beat them within the rules they run away.

Not coming on the forums and whine that you got blown up because you don't know the rules as well as the other guy.

And this goes for all you guys asking for FD for a solution because you don't like the one they gave you.

It's simple psychology. take away their toys and they go play somewhere else. Learn to adapt rather than expect everything to be given to you for no effort.

True. As a general rule of thumb 'trolls' will always find a way to be annoying in a way an automated script wont pick up on easy. Its just wishful thinking. Which makes it all the weirder that we have this discussion about a specific kind of trolling that is 100% preventable, easy as pie, and clearly understood by the OP. English is not my fist tongue. I just wanted to explain why there is no reason to support someone with a low health hull ship, boosting in a no fire zone. It should be his problem and not the victims.
But i totaly understand, that it is impossible for a machine to decide which is the victim and who is the attacker.

I usually don't condone combat logging, but in the context of a player using an exploit such as this, sure go ahead i don't have any issue with that.

I may be hanging myself out to dry here...but this really bugged me tonight and is still bugging me now.

There was an incident just now at this weeks CG at Carlisle staion. I was about to dock,cash in some hard earned bounties when a player, with no shields,deliberatly crashed into me, killing himself and making me wanted, so the station would kill me as i tried to dock. This is an ongoing issue that happens regulary among players. Its been happening for a long time. I see this at almost EVERY CG. I noticed on my radar that he was coming in fast and was heading right for me.So i locked on - a clean dbx. but before i could move, bam, then the staion opens up on me. ive been caught this way twice before,(spread out over 2 years, and about a year appart)still though- costing me millions, ( i fly a corvette) 25 million. i did not have enough for a rebuy because id just been stung the night before.I normally would never fly without a rebuy and was actually going to dock and store the ship untill i had the money..... So.. i logged off. I know its against TOS to combat log...but this was NOT COMBAT. The reason im posting this is because when i came back to open the player said he recorded the incident and is going to report me and send in the video to try and get me banned. My handle in game is Electric Kite.

So not only was this guy content with trying to get the station to kill me for no good reason other than "lolz" (and some may call this griefing,) he then wanted to get me permanently removed from the game because his little plan didnt work out for him?

Is this the player base we are fostering now? What the hell is going on?

I swore a bunch at him, im not proud, but i was so annoyed because he was so hell bent on getting me mad and trying to ruin my game i had no other way to react but swear at him. A lot. Not my proudest moment.

I guess..i just wanted to share..video games..when they are good..they are great...but tonight? I honestly felt like i never sat down to play elite.

IMHO when someone random like this griefs you, you should have no qualms about logging out so as not to have to take the 25 million dollar bill the other player is giving you.

IMHO it's another reason to play in PG with Mobius - as an older gamer I have no desire to become someone else's cannon fodder.

And are you really saying that there are people, real life people, driving around the UK streets with the intent of ramming another car to kill the person inside? Yeah, the speed limit law/ban fdev put in was a stupid quick fix that punished one and all. What was a better fix? I dunno, that's not my job. Had it been though, I'd remove the bad limiter and slap any and all rammers with a perma ban, and if they are dumbenough to buy accounts to keep repeating then fdev gets richer and we get more things faster (unless they buy more coffee machines, wide screen TVs and hottubs!).
