THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

Yeay! Found myself a binary ELW pair.

OK, as you were...

Anyone unhappy with bounty amount on Kahina, what is stopping you from offering more?

Actually reading what I just wrote - I offer 3 millions credits in any reasonable form (painite, platinum etc.) for anyone that can give me the information of Comandor Salomé whereabouts (of course if the location can be confirmed, not paying for ideas ;) )

Rumor has it she's been sighted in the Milky Way...

Odd with all the research found on the Guardians, we still know nothing of what they were guardians of, or against.

I know for a fact there are many out there looking, but I'm not personally at the moment. As far as I know nothing has turned up yet.

I suspect they are wasting there time (in terms of finding the source of the distress call, or for the cause of the permit lock). Given in the past things have appeared in the news to tee things up that are coming in an update, I suspect there will be nothing to find until 2.3.

Just heard CoR is offering 300M Cr for a certain CMDR Baton's head.... Interesting. ;)

Well, I clearly said I want her location, not her head, you see, based on certain photos (https://www.drewwagar.com/progress-report/profile-senator-kahina-tijani-loren/) I would love to get a chance of that romantic dinner, which will not happen if I do not know where she is :)

Empire clearly does not care that much about whole thing, maybe whole romance is gone and only thing they like to do is to build Death Stars, hence just 0.5M for the corpse :)

Does anyone here have her on PC?? I have but can't get on regular enough to check. Seems a simple solution tbh

If you mean on their friends list, yes.

But it would not matter. When the player controlling the in game character is not 'live' doing active plot, they are on solo, which makes absolute sense. And even if they logged in, in the wrong mode, I would not want to ruin it by saying where they were.

Yea that's what I ment :p But either way if she's on your friends list atleast we can see if she's active or not, just a thought that's all

I still think we will find that thargoids are guardians genetic creations, as are their ships which are grown from barnacles. And what we are seeing now is Imp reverse engineering which is why they look similar but not the same.

Ah ok.
Well...a romantic dinner with a witch may end in...unexpected ways.
For you.
Good luck, anyway !

Oh sure ... but I'd consider a 1 to 2 million credit bounty to still be low key for someone accused of attempting to assassinate someone of Denton Patreus' status.

From Drew's Reclamation FAQ:

Q. Octavia Quinton’s bounty for Hassan was only 50,000 Cr, yet you state it was enough to buy a decent ship. Why?
The level of bounty hunting reward and the costs of the ships had not been established at the time. I was given this figure as very generous bounty. It appears the Elite universe has had a small inflation problem in the meantime. I suggest you consider the bounty to actually have been nearer to 5M Cr.

Well... CoR have responded in kind.

They would have offered more if the wig came with Aisling's head, but they already own that - its been on display at Serebrov Terminal since the battle of Eotienses.

Warning, not a pretty sight... [knocked out]

A few mates and I were talking about how fitting and awesome it would be for the alliance to whip out a fleet of ships in the alien design. Watch the galaxy flock to become mates with them then, as if they weren't already powerful enough! With ships and naval ranks they would dominate the galaxy. I'm not sure thats a good thing either :/

I see the Alliance more as a future equivalent of the EU- only loosely organised, lots of disagreement, the only real thing they seem to have that links them is a disliking of the Federation & Empire.

It's more than just the chair that makes me think its a human vessel, I still haven't even seen the apparent picture and have suspected this is the case before I had even heard the information. Time will tell i guess :)

I have just been looking into the guardians a little more, watched obsidian ants video that is giving ram tahs observations. Makes me wonder if the Thargoids and the Guardians are one and the same, different races of the same being?

Well, we had one of the decoded messages tell us that they bioengineered a warrior race. I suspect they would have used the green skinned "weaklings" of the Southern hemisphere for the basis of that, & we know Thargoids are green.

Thought Ram Tah christened them this because they were guardians of each other-it's in one of the messages I think.

DO you know something we don't? Is this the 2.3 release date (and I just missed that memo) or a CoR event?

I agree with Jorki here. I do think the Alliance is involved, but then the are a major power with vastly more resources then us, and no doubt whole intelligence departments. All major powers and organisation will, at the very least, know a fair bit about what is going on, and the various mysteries we are perusing.

Given we cannot take the events on First Encounters as canon any-more, I am guessing that their bases studying fungus in the California nebula, Cooper Research Associates (who are one of the factions I actively work for) in the Pleiades, all the Turner stuff, Corsen and Hallsey going to them etc etc are all just due diligence on there part to not get caught with there pants down when things kick off.

It does not rule out that they are far more actively involved however. It may be that given both the Feds and Imps where involved with INRA (assuming they are still canon), that the Alliance are the good guys, trying to stop inter species war. Of course given that I am 70% Alliance 30% Imperial in my loyalties I may be bias.

As an independent thinker I've always leaned towards Alliance, though only got allied with them due to BH to get to Dangerous. Only ranked to Duke with the Empire to get a Cutter, still only a CPO with Federation-don't really fancy their ships. ;)

Oh I don't know, that's a similar look to my own, I could be tempted! :D

I am a bit suspicious about the apparent friction between Salome & Aisling, always seem d a bit artificial to me. I suspect they are actually working together. ;)

Yes we do - Ram Tah call them Guardians in language note 4:

" 4 – They were a very cooperative society – one in which all elements worked in unison towards a common purpose. He also believes they shared an expectation of mutual protection. He is still delving into these mysteries, but he believes ‘Guardians’ would be a good name for this species."

I don't think there will be any connection between the Guardians and the Thargoids.

The Gaurdians are described as tall, thin, red, humanoids, with circular eyes, no nose to speak of, and multi jointed arms with body protrusion on the forearms. And seem to prefer warmer climes.

Unless there has been so very major reconning, the Thargoids are described as all female insectoids from cold ammonia worlds.

These two things do not seem to be overly similar.

And thats before we introduce the millions of years between them.

Awesome! +1 rep
If it's an Eafots system or within 1300 LYs of the 4 beacons, could you LMK the name when you've handed in the data?

It's *just* out of Eafots, and I'm pretty sure it's still within the 1300LY range (I'm doing economical route towards the bubble for the first 2kLY). Will post systems details once I get back to the bubble.

On another point...

I just finished Out of the Darkness - an dI have to say, I enjoyed the book, but the deviation in lore is hurting my head. I mean this in terms of (spoilers for those that have not yet read it)
The Oresrians now appear to be Thargoids, which kinda "bugs" (ha ha!) me a touch, as historically, they were more interested in trade than war, but would rip your head off for calling them Thargoids. It did always seem to me that Thargoids and Oresrians were related (perhaps even just different races of the same species - kinda like Caucasians, Asians etc), but it is an interesting deviation that they now appear to be just like the Thargoids in every sense, as apposed to the very neutral alignment they seemed to have originally.

Anyways...

The guardian homework had a massive climate change event though, and they were advanced at genetic manipulation. Could be they helped themselves to evolve in a way that would allow them to survive in very different conditions.

You should give my thread a read and join in the discussion (link in signature) :)
