THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

FYI - CMDR Salomé is online right now out in HIP 21484............. wonder what she is doing out that way.

EDIT: she just went offline.

She led us on a merry chase to HIP 21484 3, there she dived for the planet and we lost her. She was leading us there for something.

May be worth a look

The systems themselves are nothing special (only made a cursory look). However, the Dumbbell Nebula itself vexed me. It's a planetary nebula with a young, hot main sequence star and a system of planets that are not Krispy Kritters - one is a water world. Seeing as how current astronomy concludes that planetary nebulae form as a result of a massive star blowing off one or more layers of itself within the last 10k years or so.... there is no way a Class A blue white star with unsinged planets should be in the middle of the Apple Core. I'm not a professional astronomer, but Wikipedia has made me suspicious enough to bring this up.

I'm just there and I do not see anything unusual apart from bloody tourists in Orcas, as there is a tbeacon next to the water world. The nebula is so small you cannot even take a decent photo so I am trying to get some distance old fashion way :)

What? What? :D

Salome appeared in the HIP 19552 where she remained for some time before moving on to HIP 19411. By the time I had realised it really was her and she might be in trouble, got to my Asp and made the transit down, word must have gotten out. In HIP 19411 there where several members of CoR who I knew but also a lot of people I did not know. Know doubt Salome and CoR where thinking the same thing. She started to move and jump, but not so fast we could not follow, which made it seem a lot less like she was running and a lot more like she was leading. Apparently she has said some words, meant for CoR just before I arrived.

She led us to the HIP 21484 system and made for planet 3 where she dived for the surface and went silent.

Is it a landable planet?

I'm not a member of the Children of Raxxla, but when I saw Salomé's long range signature in my sensors I flew as fast as I could to declare my allegiance to her. By the time I arrived in the system she had already disappeared. I am now searching for her over HIP 21484 3. It will be a long search, as this world has a radius of 8658 km. Perhaps some other clue lies here. Interesting time to be back in the bubble after 14 months in the black.

I was there, CoR folks interdicted me as if they ruled the system asking for my intentions. Can an independent CMDR not be left alone to chase shadows like the big boys do as well? Tsk

Can we confirm these sightings are the real Salomè? I've heard of players creating a new commander account with the Salome name just to troll before the event starts...

It was her (she is on my friends list), plus she was with other well known CoR peeps like Erimus.

Yup, we are about 2km up in that shot. Be careful though, it's close to 2Gs.
Aside from the fact I'm 7'5k LYs away ;), 2G is no problem for my ship as it has 5A grd thrusters.
But thanks anyway :), so are you guys scouring the planet as we speak?

I'll do some investigating.

100m to whoever keeps her alive and brings her to me.

That's 50 times the imp bounty.

In fact let's make it 200m.

It will be delivered in painite at the dock that's buying it at the highest rate.

It will take multiple trips to deliver but will be in a wing of 20 vettes protecting the princess.

Once speaking with the princess I hereby promise to either let her go on her own free will or into the protection of Cor.

Or if she wishes the Sap Core Legion and our alliance allies will protect her.

Aha, got it. Thought those articles once they passed FD filter were canon, so to say.

Yes. Once an article has been published you can consider it to be Canon. There are, however, some stipulations.

1. The may or may not refer to actual game content since the writer, a player, has limited knowledge of Frontier's plans.

2. If contradicted by other content from official channels consider the Freelance Report to either be flawed or to be fake news. Or even very fake news.

Freelance reports add a little flavor to the galaxy but each of them has to weighed against Frontier's own content to determine how valid it is.

You know more than anyone.

I've questioned Galnet before though.
