ED Steamcharts "4,000" active players. Pathetic

The surest proof that there are no good player and sales figures for ED is the fact that Frontier hasn't published them.

Wow. That's quite a statement. Does that mean that the surest proof there are aliens amongst us is that no government has published that there are?

There is no proof in absence of evidence. None.

We know that the game is still playable. We know FD are still developing for it. We know FD is still in business.

The rest, you're guessing at.

I would point out that FD would not be using 200 (or however many) developers to support a game with 4,000 users, that's 1 dev per 20 users. No company does that.

I would also point out that until we see your detailed analysis of the data, which remember is flawed, such as a Monte Carlo analysis then you can't even say there's a trend.

This is a non-issue of a non point.

Horizons is also available without Steam .. Steam is not the be all and end all of PC gaming.

It seems you haven't even bothered to read the Frontier shareholder reports.

They show almost all Frontier's PC games sales go through Steam. The number of copies of the game that Frontier sells direct is tiny.

...And some of us who spent over a year playing on Xbox bought a second copy and started playing all over again on PC [yesnod]

im sure of it too didnt deny that possibility :D

That doesn't change how many players play the game. You could have 10 000 copies, you're still 1 player.

Also console sales are irrelevant, we are talking about steam. I suggest you to read the OP.

Frontier sold 5 copies, shareholder documents reports 5 copy sold, forum user still says numbers are wrong.

Sourced from the latest shareholder report:
Financial Highlights
  • Revenue £18.1m (1H 15/16: £10.9m)
  • Net cash £6.7m at 30 November 2016 (1H 15/16: £8.6m)
  • Trade receivables £9.6m (up £7.1m from May 2016)
  • Profit after tax for period £3.6m (1H 15/16: £0.4m)
  • EBITDA £5.8 m (1H 15/16: £2.1m)
  • Adjusted Operating Result £2.2m (1H 15/16: (£1.7m))
  • Earnings per share of 10.7p (1H 15/16: 1.2p)

Revenue was up 66% and EBITDA up 179% on the equivalent 1H 15/16 numbers, driven by the successful launch on 17 November 2016 of the Group’s second franchise, Planet Coaster. Definitions of EBITDA and Adjusted Operating Result are located elsewhere in this document.

Outlook
Revenues in the first half of the year exceeded the Board's expectations. Subsequent sales have been in line and the Board is confident about meeting its expectations for the full year. Looking forward, the Board is excited about the growth opportunities in the years ahead - from both strengthening and growing the Group’s existing franchises and launching new franchises.

There's more to financial reporting than net cash, but whatever suits your narrative - however misinformed it is.

That's what the latest available figures show.

Hi ffr! (also a large etc of other dupe accounts both here an in reddit)

Long time no see. Man you really must be under someone´s pay roll to keep at it for so long:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=8157&page=121&p=1617126&viewfull=1#post1617126

Juntifor, ffr etc... Announcing the death of FDEV/ED since 2014. But hey, any time now.

I mean, surely no one can have such a large axe to grind for so long. So how much do they pay you?

Ok...I'll bite on your pointlessly rude and dismissive reply.

I bought my PC copy on my Steam account...one I've had for over 7 years since my last bout of PC gaming. Relevant enough for you? [rolleyes]

Pretty sure Frontier had sold nearly a million copies before it even went on steam. Whilst I agree that most sales have been on steam, there is still a significant amount that didn't.

I don't remember pointing my finger at you, did I hit a nerve.

Poor little creature.

You made a post in which you said 'Carebears/Elite white knights like alternative facts, so they'll use dank words like "misrepresentation", "hypothesis" or "extrapolation"...' right after this one:

You don't have any figures to back up your own hypothesis either. You have extrapolation which is not the same thing.

Since you like extrapolating though, this thread has several posts from players making it clear that they don't play the game via Steam, so unless you think there's something about the players posting which makes them atypical, you could always extrapolate some more...

I don't recall anyone else using the word extrapolate, so has that jogged your memory sufficiently? Now sorry, you were saying something about alternative facts?

Poor little creature yourself. Funny, I actually had a higher opinion of your intelligence and integrity than that. My bad.
