THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

Her experiences may of course have changed her, like Halsey going from peasant bomber to aid worker, but I doubt it.

I think she is fueled by the desire for revenge and to a degree, curiosity. She seem a selfish as ever.

Oh goodness! "Peasant bomber"? Really? Haven't you seen my video explaining how the bombing of Panem in the Onionhead War as all about saving lives?

I've personally retconned the coordinates to refer to the location of the Old Woman's Cobra - because it's clearly just a narrative device Drew used to give a cliff-hanger ending to Reclamation, rather than being actual coordinates to something.
)

The Cobra was interred in May 3302, Kahina should have been reading the holofac before that date, it has to be coordinates to something else that were not disclosed to us!

Niece report but, I think Halsey's attitude towards Onionhead has changed drastically since then. ;)

Well ... she's obviously not operating under 100% peek efficiency so ... yeah. She's dropping some Onionhead :)

Yes but the point is that the coordinates don't really matter in the long run. They could have been coordinates for the Heart & Soul Nebulae, one of the abandoned settlements, an In-and-Out Burger in the EAFOTS sector. As a literary device they are displayed to communicate the fact that Hassan & Salome's next adventure is to set out for the Formidine Rift. We the readers got all we needed from the Reorte/Riedquat hint.

Yes I agree, the Heart and Soul, EAFOTS abandoned settlements, have been a more accurate pointer to the Formidine Rift location, but its a shame after all the searching, that the location of whatever has been in the game since the beginning, has not been found before its in-game content gets released, or surpassed by other events! But obviously I'm not sure what we have been looking for, it may have already been discovered :)

I am a little concerned about this event, after i read Drews comment about those characters beeing in iron-man mode.

I understand that he wants to include CMDRs in his story, and there is nothing wrong about that. But there is a problem that already has been brought up in this thread. I play EVE for years now and you have the same problems here in the absense of a meaningful crime and punishment system.
There are players who don't care how the story plays out. They don't even care about the game, since it's just a tool for them. They now have a date, targets and a rough location (bubble or around bubble) for one of the biggest prices they can claim. Disrupting community events. And because of the instancing it's not even clear that a consistent defence can be set up. I just think throwing your story in this environment, hoping people take sides because of roleplay-reasons, is a big gamble. [blah]

Anyway, i spend the last week modding my Python as much as i can. Testing it in the current BH-CG and thinking about what else i could need. I'll throw myself in to help find the truth.

So.... I've been looking into this, and I cannot find any evidence or mention on an attack on patreus until it was announced that Loren was being charged for it. Surely there ought to have been something in galnet about the admiral getting attacked then some time should pass while IISS qwould conduct their investigations and then Loren could have been charged? It looks like we skipped the event ever happening, therefore no investigation, and straight to pressing charges and kangaroo court finding her guilty.

The Patreus assassination attempt was on August 20th. Kahina Loren was implicated in the attack on September 19th.

EDIT: I guess I was ninja'd by Jayridium?

Yes... An this is why I wish FD would let us adjust the sliders ourselves, as it would allow us to set weapons up to match the ship. Anyone that min maxes everything would be building an oven, but intelligent modifications would result in some interesting loadouts.

And our time wouldn't be constantly wasted... But I digress! I'm actually fairly happy with my Vulture, it's just an epic big ship killing weapons right now. They can't touch me - two pips to weapons, for to thrusters, and non stop orbit around my big ship prey - they can't land a shot. I just need to engineer the power distributer...

G5 dirty drives also mean I can bail out quick if it gets a bit too hot. Thos rail gun small ships can be nasty. they never g miss! Wish I could buy jitter free turret rails that do full damage...

Even against an FDL?? I never found the Vulture that effective with just 2 weapon mounts, although that was pre-engineers.

Fancy a duel to shlds down? ;)

After I posted the comment about the missing galnet I kept digging and found it so quickly came back here to redact my point, not quick enought as you must have been typing as I was editing my post. Thanks for the infor and sorry for ninja'ing you.

And that's the dilemma - we simply don't have enough data to make an informed decision, and yet people are preparing to kill and to die to protect one woman who has consistently shown herself to be ruthless and self-centered.

It'll end in tears, you mark my words.

I guess I need to figure out the Rift solution in the next 4 weeks to that we can all forget about Salome again.
Apart from she gave up ctrl of her home system, how is that selfish?

To blue wolf, i really cant see Octavia surviving that destruction!

Whether or not she survived, I would still like to know why Kahina was essential to her plans. Don't think it was just because she's hot, young, and rich; still think she's perhaps got some bloodline tie to the throne that we don't know about.

She 'gave up' responsibility for the welfare of millions/billions of people to go play at heroic space adventurer.

That's pretty much the definition of selfish.

She's got good PR for a murderous psychopath, I'll give her that.

This is where I found effecient beams. I'm on my way to see him now x

me too. But.. Cadmium... Must find...

edit - Found myself 6 Cadmium, and proceeded to get the 6 worst rolls I could imagine. Not only did all the sliders sit at the bottom `10% of the bars, but I then got hammered with negative bonuses for everything.

God I love RNG...

Anyway, two reasonable rolls at least, my Vulture will be all good.
