Yes, there was something, I hadn’t had such occurance since I started playing Elite in May 2016, and after that never again also:
One or two days after Salomé’s first announcement for the April 29th event, and the first speculations arose about SOL being probably involved, I traveled there and cruised a bit around in SC. I had no missions of any kind running, no unpaid bounties or whatsoever, I just cruised above Mercury for a few minutes, when I got a “Misson objective” POI as for example one obtains for space salvage missions when getting close to the mission goal. I jumped in and found a T9, who contacted me and offered a mission to get 24 telemetry suites for him to hand over within 22 hours (in the comms menu as a “mission critical update”). In the comms menu itself, you normally see the person that contacted you being represented by a portrait, but not in this case, the “portrait” of the character who contacted me was estranged by horizontal stripes as if being compromised by radio interference. The portrait looked like you would do to personate a secret agent or a shady individual for example, the face could not be clearly seen and it looked like the “helmet” pilot we can find in any piloted ship. I could not accept the mission as I would never have managed to get these 24 telemetry suites, besides I would have been on work when the mission timed out. Next days I’ll try to reproduce the whole thing (weekend is coming

).
Are such randomly missions normal but rare ? Or maybe it wasn’t random at all ?
