But it's 1.82g at 3km agl and 1.81g at ground level?
'Ground level' at the top of Everest has a lower gravity than 3km above the Dead Sea.

What's that Salome? Tommy's stuck down a well in the Formidine Rift? I'll get a rope...
If you can find one; or the well for that matter!

As some of you may know, I'm not Salome's biggest fan, but even I credit her with better communication skills than Lassie.

I'll double check on that later tonight but I don't think that I landed on top of a hill when I was at ground level. I doubt that though, as I would have to have landed on a "hill" that was at least 6km high.
Stop it you two. You give me my biggest laugh of the day so far and I still have to spread more rep around before I can +1 you both.
I'll just add some Rep to you and make it even![]()
The thing is, that with ED showing gravity to two decimal places, the difference between 1.81g and 1.82g can be minuscule - eg 1.814999 and 1.815000 - which can be easily explained by differences in height above/below 'sea level' or by non-spherical planet shape.
I'm personally not going to get excited by a variation in gravity of less than 0.1g, and especially not a fluctuation that is lost in the rounding.
Excuse me!
You get rep from me.
He got rep from you.
I got the square root of sweet Adams.
I don't consider this to be even AT ALL!
<Edit>
I'm especially cranky because I'm at 496 rep and I want to see if I get another green light at 500
I thought everyone knew about rope in Elite, its in the pleiades sector - although its merope I'll give you a loan of it....
*fetches coat*
Cheer up499.
Now I'm even crankier than before![]()

So apparently the best way to get Rep is to complain about not getting rep [big grin]

Only when you are a so cuuuute little bird !
Or so appetisizing for Cmdr Shijima ...![]()
So have you been pushed over the edge yet?
Seen the newsletter, Elite meet Bristol raising money for "hearing dogs for Death people."
funny day

Yesterday I also checked Orcus (in roman mythology Orcus is the god of the underworld, as Plutois in greek mythology, in addition to that it represents the dark side of the underworld’s deity; it’s also a body within SOL), just not to oversee something if present. Here I also recognized a really large amount of military ships, even more as on Charon, single ones as well as in wings, they were in orbit, were landed or were patroling the surface. It seemed strange, as if they await or protect something, or both. I also saw many convoys leaving or approaching in a straight line, mostly T7 escorted by Cobras and Vipers, but they were civilian and not military. snip
You are most likely right but keep in mind that Planet 3's distinguishing feature is that is mostly flat (re: easily explained by differences in height above/below 'sea level'), the two points are a short distance from each other (re: non-spherical planet shape) and 0.01 difference in g's might be a small amount when compared to celestial bodies but quite a force if it were caused by some kind of a ship, or other "non-nature made" object. I don't have much hope though, as overtime many of these strange things have proved to just be bugs.
