THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

I generally support independent democracies, cooperatives and communist states purporting to work for the good of the people that's not likely to happen with most.

Whilst, for roleplay reasons, I also tend to support Federal-alligned democracies*, this is mostly my bag as well. As for the Dangerous Games, I was initially trying to help the Interstellar Communist Union.

*Basically, this is a case of me being loyal to the people of the Federation, but not it's leadership.

You just picked up a fan, I thought I was the only one who did that. I've 100% on a fed ranking, and no intention of looking for the mission to take it further, same goes for Imp, as far as I can tell ED have taken the current crop of real life leaders and just cloned them into the game. I'm very tentatively on the Alliance side.

I avoid super power ranks as the plauge.
It limmits my choice in ships, but I can live with that.

@ CMDR Erimus : thanks a lot for making this kind of outcome be possible and for having read my post . that's a nice opportunity for ED to evolve and to be more and more immersive. Fly safe CMDR.

@Râgnôs : indeed . I've just began to read Reclamation but if I remember correctly what I've read somewhere , she was striped from her rank by the former emperor ( but as I said I might be wrong cause I am not that far in the book). Not by another senator. Of course our unspoken question is : why Aisling , the would be humanitarian princess, is so prompted to raise a bounty on Salomé's head when she is neither the Emperor nor was the target of the assassination attempt on Prism . Is she trying to bury a secret in relationship with what happened during the Emperor's dawn issue ?

Afik, Kahina walked away from her Imperial position and left Prism "in trust" with Cuthrick Delaney. When she was betrayed and arrested Patreus used her abandonment of her duties to deny her a trial as a senator on Achenar which would have been out of his control, for a trial on Prism fully in his control saying she's merely a citizen of Prism and under his jurisdiction.

A question not answered is who in C.o.R. betrayed Salome and how many traitors does C.o.R. have in it be they from the Feds, Alliance or Empire? The evidence against Salome was that holofac of "bring me the head of Patreus". There were only so many people at that secret meeting in Tionisla so which one of them recorded it or who knew about the location fore hand and is a traitor to C.o.R. and Salome?

Empire's Dawn only ever seems appear to serve Patreus's interests as convenient shills and scapegoats for false flag machinations of his.

As for the People's Princess she seems to excel at being or playing dumb. I didn't notice that she had placed a bounty. If she did she is banging Patreus afterall and if something unfortunate happens to the Emperor she'd be in good position to become Emperor with Patreus at her side. The golden couple to live happily ever after.

Same here. I support the Federation. President Hudson? His Term of office needs to end. Soon. He should be impeached ... I've heard stories of Hudson PowerPlay flipping Federation Democracies to Imperial Patronages simply because they offer an advantage in PowerPlay. If Hudson is in fact responsible for such acts against the Federation ... he must be impeached.

I don't support both factions that have slavery. And yes, I count the Feds in that. According to the lore people are born into corporation-run systems. Which basically makes them loan-slaves, since they probably grow up with a lot of propaganda that supports "their" corp.
For the Alliance... What do they stand for really?

So I choosed to stay independent for the time beeing. I work with them to get what i want (like Sol and Achenar permits) but won't defend them without a good reason.
My home system actually belongs to the federation and is controlled by ALD. So i often sit in a station with fed-ads and huge pictures of Duval besides eachother. They even sell you only imperial fighters here. :D

Found it early on just to make money, but stayed as a statement.

I've been away for a bit, anything new on The Rift mystery?

Oh btw, if anyone wants to update me with an ELW search in/near the rift, then PM me as I'm no longer monitoring this thread (for now).

I've followed this thread for quite a while now, although i think it's my first post here, and i have this question that is bugging me: Is the Salomé Cmdr, that several other cmdrs have encountered recently, an AI or is it a person playing it? From the dialogs i read, if it is an AI, it's a pretty damn good one...

I also read the book Reclamation a few months ago, and enjoyed it very much. I hope Salomé survives the 29th of April!

Thanks for the clarification on what happened ( don't say more , I have a book to swallow :) )
As for what you say regarding Aisling , that's exactly what we fear : we secretly raised the theory that , in order to precipitate the succession to the throne , she might have been behind the Emperor's Dawn plot alongside Patreus . This could have served her well as the senate would have been forced to act quickly. Hopefully they were more cool headed than expected and made the wise choice. However , Salomé might have discovered Something regarding this affair , hence the flamme with which Aisling is acting against her.
Well, that's only theories....

She's not an AI. FDev considers her an "advanced AI" due the fact that she is part of the lore and a character known to the hierarchy. However, she is played by an ACTUAL person. (rumors speculate she's played by Mr. Wagar, himself).

EDIT: Also, Drew Wagar has stated that all of the known characters that will make appearances during the Apr. 29th event are in "Iron Man" mode. meaning they CAN be killed. I doubt any will make it out alive...chances are, they'll be griefed. Though I hope that's not the case.

There is a 100% chance of Salomé getting killed if SDC is involved. Thinking any other outcome as possible is wishfull thinking IMO

Weird

Still at Hawkin's.

The Alpha comms beacon is now back, called "transmitter" did the beacons have that before?

Also at Gamma, two beacons??

I really hope that FDev has this planned out so it is possible for them to survive, but I can't think of a way to make it happen.

I don't know if the Senate would or could have acted, all eyes were turned to Chancellor Blaine, an Imperial bureaucrat, to makes the calls based on Imperial Law and traditions with regards succession at least. One could say it's out of respect but really if the senate didn't it would result in perpetual civil war and bring down the whole show. Regime change or not Blaine is still there, Cuthrick along with him, and the bureaucracy rolls along.

Historically it's neither necessary or a good idea for Aisling and Petreus to pillow talk about this, since that gossip is how many famous lovers found their heads on spikes. It's best for Aisling to play dumb with Petreus as it is for him to play victim with her.
It's like real life it's not being a psycho-killer that's bad, it's getting caught.

p.s. not just for you but I'm p/o'd and grounded can't active advanced discovery scanner and can't turn off data link scanner, even giving it priority 5 and powering every other thing up will it go of,,,
grounded?,,,grounded!,,,GrounDead!!!!!!!!@#%!$#^$^@%*&^(&*(

Hmmm yes , well thought indeed. Future will tell, I guess.

As for the chances Salomé survives, well SDC or not it will first depend on the defenders skills and wits : if they know griefers are in front of them , well adapt tactic to act accordingly vs them. I also guess that Salomé won't fly "naked" as a duck above the swamps ...(if you excuse the image ;) )

Odd you should say something like that, the other week I found a Fed Capitol ship under repair in Aisling controlled space.

I think that you are underestimating the players willing to support Salome and her crew. Yes ... SDC is a force to be reckoned with but if the right people get in the way even SDC can be handed their hats.

It is incredibly daring of Drew to offer his protagonist up on the altar like this.

Personally ... I've bit the bullet. I've wanted to stay free of military entanglements but I've run Fed military rank up to "Chief" to get myself in a FAS. I actually went bounty hunting tonight. Almost a year since I shunned combat and went out to explore the galaxy.

... I didn't do well.

A few tweaks to my build though and I think I'll have a better go at it tomorrow. Once I've rebuilt some of my basic skills I might try and meet up with some friends for a little friendly PvP.
