HOLO-ME - What an utter waste of developer time

Words fail me. What is HOLO-ME about ? I can make up some fancy character that is useless for any game-play - meanwhile the galaxy map is virtually unusable. What is going on ? Frontier are paying someone to create a totally useless piece of crap called HOLO-ME whilst paying someone else to screw up what was a perfectly usable galaxy map. Unbelievable. You just couldn't make it up.

And you can't even play on XBox. Game is stuck at the main menu forever, except the menus vanish and you just get the background image.

So what did they do to the galaxy map? It looked ok when i tried it earlier during the brief time that it worked.

OK - i'm currently at Gandii - where the 2 CGs are. Last night I could go to the galaxy map, zoom out a little with the mouse wheel and then pick most, if not all, of the systems with engineers - in fact most, if not all, of the "flagged" systems. Tonight I have to move around, rotate, move up and down, translate.....and only then can I pick a "flagged" system.
What on earth were they thinking ? I know - lets make the galax map harder to use - players will love that.....NOT....

Have you raised a bug report for the galaxy map?

I'm quite enjoying Holo-Me.

I can't get more than two minutes into MC without being disconnected. TBH in the current state I am surprised this is considered "release". Buggy as hell. But I am sure the white knights will blame it on my fibre internet.

I can ignore the ploppity plip plops that is HOLO-ME - but I need to use the galaxy map - and I don't appreciate it being made more cumbersome. I want to play the game - fly my ship around that galaxy - not spend half the evening trying to select where I want to fly to. Last night it was fine - tonight its rubbish.

I think it's pretty cool. It impacts pretty much all of my gameplay, whether I'm off in the black on my own, or playing with other folks. You can fly with the new camera btw.

It looked OK to me too, in the beta. Apparently, there are serious usability issues when Super Sampling (graphics option) is enabled: The info popups are in the wrong place or off-screen. There might even be another issue that the OP is referring to.

He might be in the 1% who don't like it, but there are many more who just don't see the point. Personally I think it should have been there from the start almost, and I'd much rather they'd spend time at this juncture actually putting more effort into some more single player friendly features instead.

After all, it IS really just a single player game with lots of players in it.

All I requested was Custom Saves and the fix for the mouse pointer on a flat panel instead of curved in VR.
No development has happened ever since the Beta 5 emerged a month ago!

Really ? Having some sort of weird barbie doll sitting in the cockpit chair enhances your game play ? Well I never - as others have said - it takes all sorts.....

It adds to the game because people enjoy having. They enjoy it because it adds to the game. You dont think it adds to the game, so you dont enjoy it. And it doesnt add to your game because you dont enjoy it. Its weird huh, how people can have different things they like in a computer game.

I have no probs with holo me...

Me neither - it adds nothing what so ever to my game play and can be simply totally ignored - but I resent the development resources being consumed to produce such frippery

I'll try again - have you raised a bug report for the galaxy map? Please ensure you do, because complaining here won't have the same effect, and if you don't raise a bug report it's not going to get fixed.

I think it's just late to the party features like this should of been in the game 2 years ago.
